I feel alone

I feel alone

I have no family support, they side with my abusive mother, my mother tells me I don’t deserve my kids, I have no friends because I panic and can’t maintain a friendship, the last friendship I tried to maintain I got too attached, I just feel like I have no purpose or life. I don’t drive, I don’t do anything. I pot plants but that’s not getting me anywhere. I have two kids and recently left DV and honestly I still message the guy because I’m so lonely. I cry every day, and when I’m not crying I’m angry and snapping. I don’t know what to do, I can’t afford nor get to therapy, I have nobody to watch the children so I can check myself in somewhere, i can’t figure out how to be okay. I’m really trying

Hi @Tired99 and welcome to the forums

I can hear how isolating this situation is for you and how hard it can be to find the support for your circumstances. I'm really glad that you've been able to reach out here, and hope that at the very least you feel a little less alone by being a part of the community here.

In terms of getting support, there are free supports out there, it's just about knowing where to find them. The first that comes to mind is 1800RESPECT for support following your recent DV relationship, they offer free counselling and support around DV and respectful relationships

For more long-term supports there are bulk-billing psychologists out there, though it can be difficult to find ones face to face it's not impossible. A good place to start is to speak to your GP about getting a mental health care plan which allows you up to 10 subsidised sessions per year with a psychologist, you can ask your GP if they know of any local bulk billing psychologists locally, or alternatively you can access bulk-billed psychology online using telehealth clinics. If you type "bulk-billed telehealth psychology" into google you should see a few options for this.

I know that's a chunk of info to give to you, feel free to check it out when you have the space
