Emotional Well-Being

Emotional Well-Being

Enhancing our emotional well-being is crucial for leading a balanced and fulfilling life. It helps us manage stress, build resilience, and maintain healthy relationships. Good emotional health improves our decision-making, boosts self-confidence, and enhances productivity in daily activities. It also strengthens our ability to cope with challenges, reducing the risk of mental health issues like anxiety and depression. When we prioritize emotional well-being, we experience greater happiness, inner peace, and overall life satisfaction. Ultimately, a strong emotional foundation allows us to thrive personally and socially.

Re: Emotional Well-Being

definitely agree that our emotional well-being needs nurturing too! what are some ways that have helped you look after your emotional well-being? @heera72

journaling and self-care activities like crafts have been helpful for me - anything that involves pouring into my own cup!

Re: Emotional Well-Being

Agreed. Especially in tough times, listening/writing/playing music definitely seems to work for me. It works all year round though. It's also been important to do things for my emotional-wellbeing and also to avoid doing things that disturb or harm it...

Re: Emotional Well-Being goes dark and has its moments with trauma and depression

im 43 years Old and since the age of 6 the experiences I have been through from being a foster child, I would say now have been traumatising!,

each and everyone! (school bullying home bullying no self esteem), and the shame of "needing help and talking to people" was never a point I followed through on and those decisions have sent me to this island im on now! i have no Idea which way or how to start to deal with the issues I have no because of each of those events. BUT I FEEL MORE TRAUMATISED by reading my foster file and seeing all these workers and trained clinicians reports noting "continual issues and behaviours" over and over followed by a full stop. no family, no circle, or support just my 1 ex "I don't understand" boyfriend who is always there before and through the fall.
so as lost on this island as I am, this merry go round continues 37 yrs later and the only way out I see is to start from the beginning? Dealing with every trauma from childhood! but where? how? who?

THE BEST AND ONLY GREAT EMOTIONAL WELLBEING YEARS I HAD WAS 2015-2018

i want to get off this island and be happy for good and be normal emotionally and socially

trauma by trauma? with what sort of councilor/phsycologist?

Re: Emotional Well-Being

thats actually all i have had my own life and more often than not have used it as a poor me pity cup because of the abnormalties between me and those around me having never been exposed to it and a life of foster homes calling me fictional story teller for attention and being melodramatic. living with that stigma for 20 years and raised around that has me still processing and not understanding how to walk and take the right steps. uneducated stigma and old beliefs are the NO.1 AND ONLY PROBLEM THAT HAS BEEN AND STILL IS THE REASON WHY MENTAL HEALTH IN AUSTRALIA IS A CRISIS AND GETTING WORSE? I FAIL TO UNDERSTAND HOW THE GOVT CAN AGREE IT IS A HEALTH ISSUE BUT DO NOTHING.

its quite shocking at how many people think they"know what depression and bipolar, mental health disroders are etc!"and its one of those health areas each and all of us need to understand, feel or experience to get it because if everyone knew that the world would be a much much brighter and kinder place to exist. unless you have been around someone who has truggled with mental health issues or have been through it no one could ever possibly understand what we go through. and if no one understands o gets it nothing will ever change ever.

Journaling has also been the most effective one for me.
