Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

would like some advice please :)

would like some advice please :)

Hey, I am having a hard time at the moment with stigma surrounding my mental health from others and myself. I have had long term struggle with Depression and OCD and I am currently on antidepressants. I have tried to be open to expressing my struggles with my family and my partner but I feel like I am met with frustration and a lack of understanding. I have tried various therapists and doctors over the years and have not been met with the support I am seeking. I have pretty much given up on my families support and I cannot be bothered to keep explaining myself and being met with a constant wall being put up. My partner tries their best to understand but I do not feel that they do and it is very isolating. I keep being subliminally fed the notion that I should be able to get past my struggles. Even though I am medicated I still experience crippling anxiety obssessive thoughts and depressive episodes. I feel guilty for making my partner listen to my problems because it is difficult for them to understand suicidal ideation whilst being happy also and my difficulty with dealing with everyday issues as they are not someone who struggles with a diagnosed mental illness and jhave no prior experience dealing with it in such an intimate situation. despite my life being in a good place right now objectivley and I am happy and in love. I still feel hopeless and alone and I am tired and feel defeated and like giving up. I do not expect anyone to reply but I would appreciate some advice on hown to cope alone please. Thank you 🙂

Re: would like some advice please :)

hey there @an0n0 welcome to the forums and thank you for sharing this with us.

sometimes we can have people around us, and still feel alone and unseen. i think that one of the things i love about this community, a lot of us have lived-experiences and we can definitely relate to those feelings you've mentioned. i'm so sorry you've had to feel isolated in your mental health journey, but i'm so glad you're here now and hopefully connecting with this community can make you feel less alone.

what are some coping tools that have and haven't worked for you? i'd like to get a sense of things you've tried so we can find some new ones too 😊
