ASIST Training

ASIST Training

Hi Guys

Anyone else done the ASIST Training? I was lucky to get a place into the 2 day workshop for the training and have tomorrow to go. It is interesting but does remind me a lot of the cert 4 community services modules as I have completed safety plans for clients before.

I actually so far have like the MHFA accredited course a little better, which reminds me I think my accreditation is up again either this year or next and I will need to do it again.

Anyone else done any additional training that they think is a good course to have for Mental Health work?

Yes @HelloKitty1981 . It's pretty helpful. All the best with it tomorrow and we look forward to hearing how it goes for you.

Hi @tyme

I finished the workshop. Learnt the PAL method but again, I think I have done much harder things with my trainer from my Cert 4 and so many role plays I lost count with 15 subjects for the year.

ASIST training is something we update regularly. It's not about being 'hard', but that the reminder is needed. A bit like yearly first aid training.

Mental Health first aid training is also very userful @HelloKitty1981
