Seeking advice

Seeking advice

Hi forum,

I need some advice. My brother suffers from bipolar and depression. He has been going well for the past 12 months with a job & short term living arrangements but it recently all caught up.

He is now in a bad depressed state, not working & has been told he needs to move out of his current place with no where else to go.

I have suggested over the past few weeks to go & see his GP and let him know what is going on but he is refusing help, feeling suicidal & just wanting to be left alone.

I can see things are only getting worse but don’t know what to do. I reached out to the CAT team but they said if he is refusing help they are limited in what they can do.

Anyone have any advice or have been in a similar position?

Re: Seeking advice

Hey @Blueturtle ,

Sorry to hear about your brother. I guess my first question is, Do you feel he is safe?

If he is feeling suicidal and you don't feel he is safe, then an option is to call CAT and let them know. Or call 000.

I can see he doesn't want help. I've been in that place before. But if he is not safe, then he's got no option.

That's the only thing I can think of.
