Trying to turn off and make changes

Trying to turn off and make changes

I’ve had a bit of time off some of it annual leave and some of it health . I can’t quite do things to my normal capacity and I need to make changes to what I do for an income . Epoxy art and music guitars especially are a huge escape for me I needed a little help this year and these aren’t finished the stripping back and sanding will be an issue for me physically. So some pics of resin stuff not compete yet, my grand daughter is coming over to fill them in , and just touch up paint and power on a little shed I started about 3 years ago

Oh wow, really cool @boutthattime thanks for sharing this!

I've always been so interested in epoxy art but it seems like a pretty intensive process. What first drew to working in that medium?

And do you make guitars or play them? Either way sounds really interesting and impressive to me 😀

@Ru-bee I’ve been building things out of timber mostly reclaimed timber for nearly 30 years mostly when my kids were young and someone sent me a link on YouTube and I went right down the rabbit hole . It is pretty full on but definitely start really small and shallow and grow from there. And like everything be prepared to make mistakes and be ok with that. Literally everytime something goes not quite right and so learn to be ok with that . I’m gunna try put a how to video on YouTube and really break it down if I could I would put it on this site . I haven’t built a guitar yet but I love playing them and all the history behind them especially how modern music started which is the blues but I also like buying re issue parts so fir example I bought parts that were 1951 re issue parts for one of my guitars and installed them over Christmas. If I could put some how to videos on this site I would love to help

Wow it's fantastic that you've been able to prioritse these interests @boutthattime

Woodworking is such a fantastic skill to have, so practical yet it can be really creative as you've shown here!

It sounds like music also has a big place in your life too, and getting into the history of it all just sounds like it adds to much more depth and understanding

yeah i love all the stories especially about the blues. Most people dont realise that was the begining of modern music and how modern music, rock, jazz etc all of those genres evolved from there. Sometimes ill go down the rabbit hole on youtube about guys like robert johnson its a shame more people dont know who he is and then ill get into stuff about kurt cobain significant people in music
