Help

Help

Hi,

I’m feeling just beyond overwhelmed right now. Everything seems too hard. I can’t eat properly, I’m feel so tired, I truly feel my family would be better off without me burdening them. I have felt like this before, and I know I’ve gotten through it. But right now it feels like this is how I’m going to feel forever, and I don’t know how I’m going to feel “me” again. Any words of advice, of just anything would be greatly appreciated please.

Re: Help

Hiya @TB83 I'm really sorry to hear that things are feeling so overwhelming for you at the moment! I'm really hearing you when you say it's like it will feel this way forever. Sometimes when our emotions are running super high, it's hard to lean into reason and logic to help us reassure ourselves. But one thing I do know is that no emotional state lasts forever! Our bodies literally cannot do it.

Sometimes it's about leaning into our coping strategies, sometimes it's about keeping the brain occupied enough with distractions that eventually enough time passes... and other times, it's time to reach out for some external help. All sorts of ways we can try to self-soothe, what do you tend to find effective?

Here for ya 💜

Re: Help

@TB83 hello, feeling overwhelmed is horrible. I know it feels like you are a burden but you truly aren't, you are valued and special and make the world a better place by just being here.

Try to take baby steps at a time if that's all you can manage, you said yourself you have gotten through things before so you can do it. I know it's hard to see a way through right now but please know that you aren't alone in this. There's a whole community here willing to support you.

Take care 🙂
