Exhale - anyone find professional help overworked and therefore lacking in the actual help needed?
Hello
I need a place to vent. I am a social worker and behavioural analyst by profession. I stopped work June 2023 due to an injury and haven't been back. However I have been engaging in services like social work, psychology and community health. I am finding kindness is not often found and no one has the time to attend to details. I am trying to understand and tell myself the tasks at hand are large and people need work life balance.
My question is when did it stop being about people and all about the criteria or title or just getting them out the door. I feel like the actual human connection is bare minimum and am regularly questioning my own career and if I did this. I hope not because it's deflating and as a result I never want to touch the profession again.
anyway just an exhale moment after regular disappointment in a career I personally pursued for human connection and supporting people and find it scarce now.
