Hello. 1st time here. I’m estranged from my daughter after her mother had police issue an AVO on me based on lies. Ive been to court could afford to go to a hearing so had no option but to accept courts conditions. No I’ve got a 2 year order that allows contact with conditions. However the mother has blocked all means of contact. Legal advice is I can’t do anything. I’m suffering. I honestly didn’t do anything she has alledged but I’m assumed guilty and left shattered. These AVO laws are wrong and need to be changed. At no time did anyone ask if I’d done the things alledged. I’m an innocent father who’s family has been destroyed by a vexatious mother. I understand there are many men in the same situation. It’s not right

I hear how painful it's been to become estranged from your daughter and to have these allegations made against you. It sounds like it's been a nightmarish experience.

How can we best support you through this on the forums?

Welcome to the forums. I'm glad you have found us and I hope that you find the support you are looking for here.

I don't have any experience with this myself so I can only imagine what you are going through. My husband was put in a similar situation many years ago and like you the system failed him and his daughter.

It must be so heartbreaking for you that the mother has done this. It really sucks that the system doesn't ask the right questions. I know that you said that legally you can't do anything, but is there something that you can do for yourself that might make you feel less consumed by all of this?
