Grief

Grief

Hi I am new here. I feel so broken and sad. I have lost a lot of people in my life including my parents and my nephew. Recently I lost the most special person to me my aunty, I thought losing my parents was hard this is even harder. I don’t know if I can go on without her. Her funeral is this Tuesday it’s going to be the hardest day ever. I was with her when she passed away. Watching someone in the end stages of life and watching there breathing change and eventually stop is so hard. And I had to but my best friend down my big fur baby Bella. I know they are not suffering no more but I don’t think I can go on without them I am having bad thoughts. They were so special to me. I haven’t fully grieved for my parents. I don’t want to burden anyone I’d rather just bury everything. I have bpd and anxiety and depression. I just feel like I can’t go on without my aunty.

Re: Grief

Hello dear @hellokitty198 ,

I hear your pain and your loss. Your feelings are valid as I can see how special your aunty was to you.

Grief is a natural process and it is understandable you are feeling this way.

Allow yourself to grieve. You are allowed to grieve.

Know that you are not alone even though you feel you have lost so many important people in your life.

Celebrate the life of your aunty. If you want, feel free to share a little about her.

If you feel you want to speak to someone 1:1, Griefline may be an option. They are available via phone until 8pm tonight AEST: https://griefline.org.au/

We are here for you.

Re: Grief

I'm so sorry for your loss @hellokitty198. Obviously it's very hard right now with it still being so fresh. I know it wont feel like it at times, especially right now, but you will find ways to go on, it's just going to take some time and a lot of grief, but you'll get there. I was going to suggest the same as @tyme did, maybe you can share a little bit about her with us, she must have been a very special person.

I wrote this to someone here recently who had lost someone very close to them and it was an old saying I heard years ago... "We're never truly gone until someone says our name for the last time." So her memory lives on with you and everyone else she touched.

Re: Grief

@hellokitty198 welcome to the forums, I'm really glad you're here

I'm sorry to hear about what brings you here and all the loss you have suffered, your post really hit me because I know it all too well unfortunately. I have also lost a lot of loved ones including both of my parents.

Greif is just love that has nowhere to go. Your aunty was obviously very special to you and I bet you to her too, she would probably want you to give some of that love to yourself.

One day at a time, there are no rules or timeline to grief and your grief is not a burden.

Be kind to yourself, you are full of love 💜
