Do you find that your Depression is worse on weekends?

Do you find that your Depression is worse on weekends?

I find this to be the case every weekend. It hits me like a tonne of bricks. It’s horrible.

I went outside for a walk. If you didn’t know any better, you would think I was drunk. I’m sober, as much as I wish I wasn’t, but I’m too depressed to even walk properly. Uncoordinated.

My siblings and their kids are at their own houses at the moment.

My wife is on the other side of the planet and will be for a long, long time.

My friends are non-existent.

My Depression is definitely there during the week, but it’s nowhere near this bad.

Hey @florencefifty

I do tend to struggle more of a weekend cause it’s outside of my usual routine in which I feel safe. My usual supports are also not around.

Hey @florencefifty ,

Hearing you. I found this happened to me in the past and the only way to help myself was to be proactive. I had to plan ahead and get myself sorted for the weekend so I wouldn't feel this slump each time.

Morning @florencefifty

Nice to virtually meet you. I certainly hear you as regards mood changes on the weekend. I guess that that I am preoccupied on weekdays with everything going on that I don't really have time to be down. Weekends are another matter, then I have too much time, but as @tyme said, I have now always got my weekends planned so that I always have stuff on. Grant it this will inevitable find me at Bunnings, so love that place, I can spend hours there wandering up and down the aisles, buying stuff that I don't actually need, but do so 'just in case I need it'. So plan your weekends mate .......Asgard

Hi @florencefifty,

Yes, 100% it is worse on the weekends. In fact, I now dread weekends. I have very few friends (because, most likely, I have pushed them away/they actually do not like me, who REALLY knows??). I waste my precious weekend time, each and every week. I have not felt so bad for such a long time.
