Happy Pride Month for 2024!!

I'm a little late getting started, sorry fam! But I digress, Welcome to Pride Month 2024!
As we come together to celebrate Pride, we acknowledge the incredible diversity and resilience within the LGBTQ+ community. Pride Month is a time to honor the progress made towards equality, remember the struggles faced, and continue advocating for a world where everyone is free to be their authentic selves. And let us not forget that Pride Month began with the Stonewall Riots; a reminder that we've had to fight tooth and nail to have our love recognised, and the fight is not over yet.
I think it's also especially important to acknowledge the challenges faced by queer folks living with complex mental health. Living in this intersection means we face distinct and compounded difficulties, navigating both the stigma surrounding mental health and the discrimination based on our sexual orientation or gender identity. Mental health is a crucial aspect of overall well-being, and it is especially important to address the specific needs and experiences of the LGBTQ+ community.
This thread is an opportunity for everyone to share stories, celebrate the challenges we've overcome, and find solidarity in community. Join us as we celebrate love, identity, and all things queer! You can also come and join us over at the LGBTQIA+ Social Space!

- QLife 1800 184 527: Provides LGBTQIA+ peer support and referral for people wanting to talk about a range of issues including sexuality, identity, gender, bodies, feelings or relationships. Available 3pm-midnight.
- YarnsHeal: First Nations Brotherboy and Sistergirl suicide prevention
