Getting through the day

Getting through the day

Hi,

Not sure if anyone will see this but I just wanted to write about how I'm feeling today. I'm so tired. There have been major changes in my life recently and I know change is never easy but it's just so tiring. It's like I have to adjust to a whole new lifestyle and even though I know I'm in a better place than I used to be I can't help feel like it's just all so exhausting. I'm not sure if anyone can relate but yeah, that's just been on my mind. Will post an update later on.

Hi @HopeDream,

I hear you, and I'm really sorry you're feeling so exhausted. Change can be incredibly draining, even when it's for the better. How are you coping with these new adjustments? Are there any specific changes that are particularly challenging for you right now? Please take care of yourself, and feel free to share more when you're ready. ❤️

Hi @lavenderhaze,

Thank you so much for your reply. I recently broke up with my boyfriend a few months ago, and although I do believe it was the right decision to break up, it's still hard to manage without him. I think I depended on him too much for my own happiness, so when we did break up, it felt like my world was falling apart. Now I realise that the breakup was actually good for me in the sense that it gave me an opportunity to find happiness within myself. However, I can't deny that it's been tough. All my life I've relied on others to define my self-worth and now I'm at a point where I know I have to find the strength to define my self-worth on my own terms. So, I guess you could say this change has been good overall, but I'm just so tired.

On another note though - this is a bit random - but I was wondering if your username is based off the Taylor Swift song "Lavender Haze"? If so, I just wanted to say I love that song! Haha.

Hi @HopeDream

How are ye, you have just experienced one of life's biggest stressors so no wonder you are knackered. Its a whole new world you are facing, which can scary but also rather exciting. From what you wrote you are very self aware, so fair play to ye, you are deciding to rely on yourself as a human who deserves respect. As you said you decide your own self worth but on your terms, no one elses. To me that is very empowering.........Asgard

Re: iRe: Getting through the day

I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and feelings @HopeDream. It sounds like you've been through a lot lately, especially with the breakup, and I admire your courage in seeking happiness within yourself. It's definitely a journey, and it's okay to feel tired along the way.

My username is actually inspired by the songs Purple Haze by Jimi Hendrix and Lavender Haze! Music can be such a source of comfort and inspiration, especially during challenging times. I'm glad you enjoy that song! ❤️

Re: Getting through the day

Hi all. I am new to this and quite nervous stepping out of my comfort zone. I completely understand the exhaustion of getting through the day. I am so tired each and everyday at the moment, I just go through the motions of a days participation and then go to bed around 6 pm and start again tomorrow. My heart breaks for everyone that is dealing with this as I walk your shoes daily, but the one thing I hold onto is the person I am going to meet and get to know at the end of all of this.

The background story to this is 2 weeks ago I attempted suicide I have a wonderful medical support system helping me several times a week. I have had my ups and downs through this period but I am reassured each and everyday we can get through this and life can be better. I am awaiting a new diagnosis in another week and hopefully that will help. But the utmost important thing for me is to trust my teams and do the work. And hopefully the new me will walk hand in hand with me comfortably.

Love, respect and well wishes to each and all.

Thank you for sharing your story with us @Snoopy1.

It takes a lot of courage to open up, especially when things are tough. It sounds like you're going through a really challenging time, but it's inspiring to hear that you have such a supportive team and that you're focusing on trusting them and doing the work. I am sure it must have been really hard, but your strength and resilience are admirable.

How are you feeling today? Is there anything that's been bringing you a little bit of comfort or joy lately?

We're here to support and cheer you on as you navigate this journey. ❤️

Hey @Snoopy1 ,

We are here to support you. It's a place similar to what many of us have found ourselves in.

Please know you are not alone.

As hard as the journey may be sometimes, remember your inner strength. Remember the new YOU and write your life's story as you'd want it to be.

You are the author of your own story. If you don't like parts of it, change it.

Hugs. Walking the way with you.

Re: Getting through the day

hi @HopeDream, thankyou for sharing how you are feeling. sometimes that can be difficult, particularly if you are feeling tired and exhausted by those feelings and the other changes that you are going through. I can completely relate to feeling completely worn out by having intense emotions to do with changes in my life. I have recently moved house. I have had to move house 8 times in the last 7 or 8 years. My psychiatrist told me today that moving house is in the top three most stressful things of all. It's easy to hear that and read that, but that doesn't usually help to deal with the whole ordeal. I guess knowing that the period of change (whatever that may be) is temporary and hopefully when things settle, you will recognise and feel better because you do know that you are now in a better place. Be kind to yourself and if you need to take 5 because you are tired emotionally or physically, you could do that without feeling guilty. You are looking after yourself! Take care 🙂

Re: Getting through the day

Hi @HopeDream

Sorry to hear you are going through this, I can hear and feel your pain, thank you for sharing. I have also gone through a break up in the past, I can relate to what you are saying about relying on someone. I felt completely lost, I couldn't do anything myself, even making small decisions was really hard. Constant worrying and feeling drained. Over time, by taking small steps, I had the courage to start making decisions on my own, I said to myself, I am my own boss and from today, I am not going to be afraid of making any decisions for myself! I am going to be Happy! 🙂 I am going to engage in things that bring me joy! Over time, I am more confident now. This will pass, be kind to yourself, take some time off to relax and engage in things that make you happy 🙂 Wishing you all the happiness you deserve, Take care.
