Threat of Eviction/A serious Risk of Homelessness at christmas

Threat of Eviction/A serious Risk of Homelessness at christmas

hello everyone I guess its time to write on here Its almost christmas when you should be focussed on family ,fun, and good happy times right ? wrong this year for me extreme stressed has been placed on myself and my siblings whom I live with, one of which is a minor, the other has a disability ,basically we have to come up with a ridicululous amaont of money to cover a debt ,a rates debt thats oweing on our mothers house that we live in otherwise our local council will vote the property to be sold out from under us thanks to our mothers administraters who have failed to pay that said bill and failed to give us adequite information to help remedy the situation before it came to this crunch time or as I keep feeling its D Day for us to get out the house weve lived in for over 20 years its the family home for crying out loud, the amount of stress now placed on me to remedy the situation has at times exceeded my emotionally copacity this week causing me to feel physically sick today aswell as mentally burdened by it all ,my father who passed 12 years ago I keep thinking about him and wishing I could just go back to being a child who was carried in his arms and not have to be the adult in this messy stressfull situation I literally at times have felt like Ive needed to be physically carried by someone or that I just want to fall apart in an exhausted emotional heap on the floor ,yesterday I did as much as humanly possibly to seek support mainly financial but also legal and centrelink and oh you wouldnt believe how many phone calls I was on sometimes on two phones at once to use evry precious momment to reach out for any and every support I could possibly think of to clear this debt so that we wont be homeless ,its ridiculous,my driving this week has become very erratic cause of my extreme stress levals I cant let my youngest sibling become homeless but at t the same time Im struggling to come up with solutions,Ive tried calling anglicare, legal aid, centrelink and sometimes trying to call two different places at once to seek support for this its painfull and emotional ,some nights Ive found myself waking in the middle of the night trying to google anything and everything that might help, legaally or finanacially or advocy groups and ways to raise money,I wont say the exact amount on here thats needed to pay the debt but its alot,so much on my mind to the point of just constantly driving around trying to fix this or constantly on the phone or constantly thinking, also Ive not bothered eating as much at times because the stress makes me fell like not eating much and DDay to remedy the debt is next week then we find out if where homeless or not ,if I cant come up with the money ,the stakes are high it feels like a real menatl battle at the momment Ive tried loan caompanys Ive tried talking with the local council its just nuts but at leat a cople of family know so I have to vent to them as needed otherwise its just too much to supress, any ideas at this point would be helpfull ,firstly can the council legally do this reposses the property especially when theres a minor involved and in case anyone asks we did have a soliciter involved till recently when they decided to turn on us in favour of our mothers administraters views oh and one last thing the administrtaer is allowing this and is doing this without our mothers ay as mum does not want to see us become homeless, she disagrees with whats happening

Re: Threat of Eviction/A serious Risk of Homelessness at christmas

I'm so sorry to hear it has come to this @LostAngel , especially at this time of year. Many have no idea what it's like to be in that situation, myself included.

I hope you find the support you deserve.

We're hearing you.

Hi @LostAngel So sorry, so stressful for you 😞 Have you thought of setting up a Go Fund Me page. You’d be surprised with the generosity of strangers. Just a thought. I really pray you find a solution to this mess you’re in. 🙏

Hi Friends @Krishna , @tyme , @NatureLover thanks for taking time to listen its been a while since then ,Ive allowed christmas to distract me from the worry at least for a short time and as yet not evicted but am worried for the new year no idea what things will look like then ,I feel its a race to stop their unjust decision ,thankfully our mother is on our side with this and without saying too much we have 11th hour actions that we are going to try to implement to get them to see the situation from our presepective ,some family feel it may be in vain but we still have to try anyway theyve got to be made to see the situation for what it is and not just how it looks to them on paper ,I guess thats all that I can say ,dont worry friends its nothing of illegal nature just something we have have to be fast at doing thankfully the ones deciding eviction are not currently at work due to christmas time but again I still dont know what next year will look like, thank you for the suggestion of a go fund me page ,I have set one up but still yet to have any donation there ,also am trying to sell my car but there hasnt been enough interest there either to gather enough to cover the debt ,wish me like in the 11th hour Plan lets hope it helps ,for now Im taking some time to rest just after christmas ,thankfully christmas was still able to be an enjoyable day and a welcome distraction .

If you look into renter's rights in your state, you may be able to buy yourself some more time @LostAngel . It must be horrible to be in this situation with so much uncertainty. Yet I hear your shining spirit. I recognise this can be so difficult. I am glad for your update as it was a little concerning to hear that you were going to get evicted.

Please take care.

Good luck with your 11th hour plan @LostAngel Hoping it all works in your favour so that the start of 2024 is less challenging for you. 🙏
