Good morning!

Good morning!

Good morning, all! Is there an @ everybody? Is it better to directly address people with an @? I don't want to miss someone, or a person who wants to respond that I haven't mentioned.

What are your plans for today? What are you grateful for?

Today I'm having my 3rd initial psych appointment with a new lady. She is really nice, but because she's new to me I have to start again with my history. That's really hard. Brings up all sorts of things I don't want to think about/remember. I'm sure you get it.

It'll be a nice drive into the regional city I live near, though. It's a 40+ minute easy drive, though it gets frustrating when the drive is as long/longer than the appointment. Might see if I can do something useful while I'm there.

I'm feeling a bit sad 😣. Yesterday I went for an interview with a recruitment company and the lady made me feel, hmmm, 'an unsuitable candidate'. She didn't say that - it was my interpretation. Without going into it, my work record is unstable (a reflection of me). If you're interested in knowing more, I'm happy to share.

Anyway, I'm going to be grateful for a reliable car that makes me feel safe when I drive it. I'm grateful for the coffee I'm drinking this early morning. I'm grateful for the lovely breeze coming from my window that's so refreshing.

Enjoy your day. Thank so much to those who've responded to my morning messages. Please share what's happening with you too. I care and I love to hear from you. 💜

good morning @JRMum

Hoping you have an enjoyable drive. Perhaps if you arrive early to the city you'll find a fresh park or waterway to stroll... Listen to the spring go arpeggio in surround sound..?

I know what you mean about rehashing old sensitive 'stuff' for the benefit of a new therapist...

Although, maybe you don't need to.?

I'm seeing a new psych, too. She has exercised a good deal of consideration in this regard, and is patient enough to allow pertinent features from history to bubble to the surface as the weeks progress... Or else she'll slightly tease out a little here and there, as though an archaeologist, careful not to break a potentially valueable find.

She's even disclosed this approach and checked in with me if that would be OK? ..

So I wonder: how do you feel about having that conversation up front with your therapist today? That you're feeling sensitive, or overwhelmed by the prospect of dredging the river bed of memories all at once, and can you both freestyle a little bit and - since she's a pro, she may well be quite confident and attentive to let your session unfold that way. Organically.

??

By the way, I thank you dearly for the 6 mill.! And as for the chocolate; can you make mine rum and raisin, please? 🙏😊

Today (and I've had just 3 hours sleep, so if I can pull this off, I'm doing great!!), I am grateful for:

  • the morning free to crawl back to bed.
  • puffy pink roses
  • the gift of words and worlds within them.

Take care. All the best. And travel safe.

@Kyle1 Good morning,

You're right, I will be brave and request that we perhaps not delve so deep today. I am feeling quite fragile, hopefully she'll be amenable to that.

Your new pysch sounds like a keeper. I'm really happy with how I click with mine so far, too.

Your ability to go back to bed today is envy-provoking! Although, there aren't many mornings where I actually wake up and think that I've had enough sleep. For me, it's the falling asleep that's so hard. My mind will just not switch off.

The ideas you suggested about the drive brought up listening to Spring by Vivaldi in the car. That is a truly brilliant piece of music. As a former violinist I can certainly appreciate it, and remember the lovely feelings associated with playing it in an orchestra.

Time for me to leave. Thank you for your well-wishes. I hope your 'going-back-to-bed' refreshes you, and you enjoy the rest of your day.

Re: Good morning!

Hi @JRMum

Your posts always brighten up my morning. I feel like I need you in my house when I wake up and start the day hehe. Thank you for bringing this little bit of joy!

So, firstly, I'm sorry you're feeling sad. That's not good. How was your psyche visit? Seeing new one definitely comes with its challenges. How was the drive? I also like a nice drive. It's kind of relaxing. But I do get bored after an hour or so and hand the wheel over to my husband!

Today I am grateful for my relationship with my youngest daughter. She's the last one (out of 4) still at home and we get on so well. Wednesday is her day off uni and my day off too so we hang out together and usually have coffee by the harbour. It's a special time. We did that yesterday.

Wishing you a great rest of the day

Re: Good morning!

Hi @hanami

Thank you so much for telling me my posts bring you joy - that has cheered me up! I'm feeling ok now, I had a good session with the Psychologist. She asked me to be honest, and I was which was an empowering feeling. 2 weeks ago, she asked me who my friends were, and it brought home the fact that I don't have any. Sure, there are lots of people I know and am acquaintances of, but there's not a person who I share my innermost feelings with (aside from my husband). So, I guess it's particularly important to tell my truths.

Your Wednesdays with your daughter sound lovely. I have a 20-year-old son, who lives with his dad, and he is about 2 1/2 hours' away. We don't have a close relationship; I was very sick mentally while he was a child. Now if I make any suggestions about his life, he gets defensive, and I question whether I deserve to have a say. So, I just encourage him with the path he has chosen, and hope that as he gets older, he will come to care that we have a good relationship.

Back to you and your daughter, is it the Sydney harbour that you go and have coffee by? That's amazing! How lucky are you to be living so close to an icon. I've been to Sydney a couple of times, just for a few days but I loved it.

I'm going to just have a relax I think for the rest of the day. My husband is WFH, it's nice just to have someone here. My puppies are asleep in their beds under the desk. Things are good.

Re: Good morning!

Oh, @JRMum sorry to hear about your son. It must have been so hard for you when he was young and you were unwell. So so hard!

I hear you re friends. I have one close friend who I share everythign with but she is often physically unwell and sometimes I go for ages not seeing them. I have four kids and was always so busy with them that I probably put friendships on the backburner thinking I would pick up where I left off once my kids were older. But it's not so easy. I do stay in touch with some school mums and some old school friends. But I often see others with their big groups of mates and wonder how they do it. I seem to find it hard to maintain close friendships. I acknowledge how lucky I am though being close to my family. One of my boys is really close to me as well and always up for an outing together.

The harbour we go to isn't Sydney but down on the south coast of NSW in a regional area. We do live near it and super fortunate to be so close to the coast. My oldest daughter lives down in the Alpine region of Vic. I love to vist but love getting back to the waves and the beach.

Wishing you a great afternoon!

Hanami

PS. Glad your appt went well...forgot to say that!
