Moving on troubles

Moving on troubles

For years I have wanted a clean start, new job, new house, new town, new relationship.

My marriage is broken but I had to return back to the family home when covid hit and I had a lot of troubles with kids and work. I have since returned to uni and my old reception job in a small remote town.

3 teenagers struggling in the only school I can afford.

This year I have been holding off leaving until my eldest finishes highschool and youngest finishes primary school. It was just too unsettling and I also had a huge financial setback thanks to tax and small business issues.

Here I am with a date set to give my notice but now...I can't find an affordable place to live. It seems I have bad Khama! Everything is against me. Why does everything have to be so hard? This housing crisis is ridiculous. Bills are at an all time high and how does a single mum afford to live on low income? Let alone study.

Everything I ever worked for in life is going.

All I have is dreams and this uncomfortable sick feeling of being a nobody and a failure.

I'm so tired of being stuck and scared.

I started packing last week to go. But now I have nowhere to go.

I want my few friends nearby and to be where I feel at home. I am praying things fall into place but...its not looking good. I am so depressed.

Hi @Messylife

Glad you are here. Sounds like things are challenging for you. You have made good decisions and with persistence doors will open for you. You are important and you matter. You have lived experience and that is priceless. Here is a factsheet on depression that has some helpful information... Depression (sane.org)

Re: Moving on troubles

hi @Messylife

I feel you...

The housing crisis is too real.

As a single dad that started the year homeless with three children in tow, I know too well the struggle.

I was fortunate enough to have a supportive church (at one time) who helped find a house for us. It was awefully expensive, ($500/week) and i spent what little savings i had on rent throughout the autumn and winter.

Had it not been for an extremely supportive sister, we would be homeless once again.

Fortunately we were able to move to a more affordable house just this weekend, and not disrupt the kids school arrangement.

I am hoping this might be the beginning of more beginnings...as you have described. And getting a handle on mental health, financial buoyancy, life, relationships, all that...may finally inherit some optimism. Fingers crossed for us both 🤞

If dreams are all that's left for now, let's hold on to them, yet...

Better things do come!

Would you like a song?..

Re: Moving on troubles

Hello @Messylife

I'm not coasting along well either, have all kinds of things go wrong but this weekend decided to do some subliminals to change my subconscious programming.

Its been a tall order to try and turn situations around but I'm feeling less at the mercy of situations. But don't know how things are going to work out, so far touchwood. But still manoevering my way through dreaded situations like its some kind of battle which I don't know the outcome of.

Wanting to send you my support. I thought I'd share the subliminal I have downloaded on my ipod and listen to each day. I've had so much bad luck over the course of my life I think it became a mental program.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Bb4X6AxeqQ

Embedded within the subliminals are these messages:

Everything always works out in my favor every little thing Everything Everything is always working out in my favor right now Every second Every moment Everything is in my favor Everything Everything always goes my way Everything Life always favors me Always People always favor me People are always favoring me People are always in favor of me People treat me with kindness and respect Everywhere I go People are always in favor of me People are generally nice, but regardless of who they are, it doesn’t matter because they are always nice to me People are always in favor of me People always favor me I am favored in all situations I am favored in all circumstances Everything always works to my advantage Life is always in favor of me I don’t ever have to lift a finger I just sit back and watch life favor me People favor me Situations favor me Everything is rigged in my favor Everything

Sending you my strength and solidarity,

S.G.

Re: Moving on troubles - update

Well now...it is almost 3 months since my post. I moved out!

I woke up in my new flat at 2 am, where I sleep on the floor on a camp mat. I have so many worries I wonder at what point I will sleep again.

There are so many strange smells and sounds in the night. Lots to get used to.

I have no idea how I'm doing this but I know what I am doing is the right thing for all of us.

My husband won't speak to me. He thinks I'm the devil.

I had to leave my daughter behind. For now. She is only 12. She wears my shirt to bed.

I have no job. My savings is going.

I have juggled everything for the last 20 years and all my balls have been dropped. I think I dropped a few glass balls too.

Now I am numb.

I feel like I can't breath.

My body hurts.

I have a mountain of paperwork to do.

Everything in life is spinning.

When will the spinning stop?

When does rest come?
