Schizophrenia

Schizophrenia

I have been taking medication for schizophrenia and it hasn't worked. I'm still hearing voices and its quite frightening of what they are saying to me. I'm taking a high dosage of the medication too.

So it's looking like I might have to go into hospital to try another medication which they will need to monitor me for so I could be in there for a while.

I'm very nervous going into hospital and going on this new medication and the side effects of what it could do to me.

I just hope this new medication works because it's stopping me from living my life and I can't work at the moment and I don't know if or when I'll be able to come back to work.

Re: Schizophrenia

Hi @Pippa4

While I don't suffer from Schizophrenia I can relate to having to go into hospital to try different meds. It is a hard time, especially if we are not sure if they will help or not.

I hope you are able to get the help you need.

Re: Schizophrenia

Hey @Pippa4 ,

All the best. It takes time to find what works for you, but once it's right, hopefully the symptoms are more manageable.

Hospital can be scary. It's good to speak to the treating team about your hesitations and fears. They may be able to guide you through it in a more sensitive way.

Please take care. We look forward to hearing how you go.
