Something’s not right

Not quite a crisis

Not quite a crisis

Can feel like a crisis but really is a matter of contacting my sadness and working out what to do next.

I’m someone who needs to talk. I spent the whole day watching ‘ feel good’ TV today. The first few minutes were helpful, the rest only served to pass the time.

I have podcasts of a man called Michael Singer that quite inspire me. From a Spiritual base but t just full of common sense outlooks on life.

Friends are a bit thin on the ground just now. Have to trust there’ll be a way forward from here, People mostly find sadness a negative emotion but not me. When I’m sad I’m real and grounded.

Re: Not quite a crisis

Hi @BronH,

Thanks for sharing. I can definitely relate to a lot of what you have written!

I find that 'in-between' state tough too - when I'm not necessarily needing crisis support, but could really use something (like a chat with a friend) to help pull me out of a low period. Am I right in thinking this is similar to how you're feeling at the moment?

It's great that you've acknowledged that working out what to do next would be useful for you, and I hope you're able to find some clarity on this. I'm sorry to hear that some of the strategies you tried today haven't been as effective as you might have liked, but I'm glad you've been able to identify something else that could prove helpful.

You mentioned that you're someone who needs to talk. Would you like to chat to us about what's going on for you?

Thanks @puzzlingdino . Your description of the in between state relates well to how I feel. It is great feeling to be acknowledged in that way.

No need to go into the details. An interaction like this is really helpful. I feel connected.

Hi @BronH

It sounds like you really know yourself and really know when you are having those up and down moments. That is a really good quality to have.

If you just want to talk then you have come to the right place. Talk as much as you want and we will be here to listen. I hope you find the forums really supportive.

I couldn't agree more with feeling sad. It is better to have an emotion then none at all. It is when I have no emotions and feel numb that I start to worry.
