Pain in the soul

Pain in the soul

Hello everybody! I'm new here and this is my first post. I'm lost in my thoughts and I would like to share some of them with you because maybe I can organize myself mentally.
In short, I have suffered a lot with my partner's personality or attitudes. He hurts me with the words he says about me and disappoints me a lot with his attitudes. The last thing I found out about him was that he is looking for massages and escorts while being married. If there is any man on this forum could you explain to me why this happens? There is no greater disappointment than this for a woman. I'm traumatized by this because I've always needed my partner to give me the emotional support I so desperately need and what I received was exactly the opposite. Why does a marriage reach this point? I feel very humiliated and terrible as a woman. I believe I am an attractive woman and I am a good person. I hate lying and I have always left space open in my relationship for conversations to take place on any topic. I have forgiven many verbal and even physical attacks that I have suffered. I forgave the humiliations and fights he made his family watch because of his explosive personality and not knowing how to control his emotions. I forgave him for exposing my daughter during these moments, I forgave him when I found viagra he was using without ever talking to me. But looking for another woman and prostitutes, I can't forgive that. How to get out of this relationship, being financially dependent on it? I've only been in Australia for a short time, I have children and I'm without a job, even though I'm looking every day. The situation has reached a point where it is difficult to see light at the end of the tunnel. I've already talked to channels like 1800respect, safe steps and orange door but unfortunately there's nothing practical I can do at the moment because I'm not a permanent resident yet. Why do people hurt each other so much? I don't know what to do. Please, if anyone could guide me or explain to me why men do this to their women I would appreciate it.

Thank you.

I wanted to say that I am sorry that you are going through the difficult experience that you describe. I would feel extremely hurt in your situation. I don't think it's OK to search for escorts etc when you are in a committed relationship. I hope you can continue to plan to get out of the relationship, particularly since you wrote that you have been abused. Perhaps, by being so forgiving, you have put up with too much?

Hi @Bruna

You do not have to, and should not, tolerate this behaviour. This does not sound like a safe relationship and the things you have mentioned sound very much like domestic violence.

I have just searched for infornation for you and hope this helps. According to a quick read, to me it sounds like there is a good chance that our government will support you from an immigration standpoint, if you meet the right requirements.

I hope this helps. Please reach out to a local domestic violence service as they can organise accommodation etc and help you with any paperwork.

Hi @Bruna

I'm so sorry to read about what you've been going through. No one deserves that and you ask valid questions as to why men do this to their female partners. It's horrid and we have such a problem with it here in Australia. It makes me sick to my stomach to see news' stories about domestic violence.

I'm glad you've reached out to the appropriate supports. Have you considered leaving the situation? I know how difficult this suggestion can be so please forgive me, but just wanted to check if this is an option for you.

I know there is the added challenge of you being relatively new to Australia. Do you have any friends you could stay with temporarily?

Take care

Hanami

Re: Pain in the soul

Hi, I really appreciate you taking some of your time to try to help me in some way.
I don't want to bring more confusion to this story, because I have 2 children in the middle of this and even though my relationship with my partner is bad he is still the father of my children so somehow I will have to learn to adapt to this situation because it's impossible for me to just disappear from his life (I would really like to). In the case of this link that you kindly sent me, it seems to me that it would just help so that my permanent visa could be processed faster. But for this to happen I need to prove it and I would need to go through more humiliation during all this bureaucracy. I feel that this way the snowball would only grow without helping much with the necessary issues that I consider at the moment, which are help with my mental health after these traumatic events and also employment so that I have a chance of being able to pay for somewhere to I go live.
But again, I appreciate your intention.

Re: Pain in the soul

Hi Hanami,

I think about leaving home all the time, but I can't because I'm financially dependent on him and because I have children, I need to make sure they're okay too.
I don't have friends, I came to live in Australia because of my partner and the people I met are related to him, like his family and his friends. I don't work so it's harder to make friends.
I thank you very much for your attention.

Hi, I don't want to look like a saint, because I also made mistakes in my relationship with him. But I never had eyes for another man when I was with him. This hurts too much and in my opinion it cannot be forgiven.

Thank you for your time.
