Something’s not right

Really trapped and feel like I can't get help

Really trapped and feel like I can't get help

Again, I'm really, really not doing good and I don't know what to do. My mental health is going down hill so fast it's scary.

It's not just depression, now it's panic attacks, hearing things that aren't there, paranoia, no sleep, and just a deep, deep fear of I don't even know what.

I tried going to hospital for these a symptoms a few months ago but they did not have capacity to help me - just referred me to a private psychologist.

I've been seeing the private psychologist for a couple of months now and though they've helped re-diagnose me with C-PTSD they've not been that helpful with much beyond that diagnosis or how to manage it (or even how to identify what are symptoms and what are real feelings).

I have private health insurance, but it does not cover MH of course.

I used to call LL quite often to help keep me sane, but a month and a half ago I got a call from the hospitals MH unit say LL had called the police reporting that I had threatened violence against my landlord due to them increasing rent. This was not only untrue, but impossible as I have a mortgage and don't rent. I was able to get LL to admit there had been a mix-up in phone numbers, but that was a long and horrible process and the MH unit say they won't change their records unless I fill out several forms and provide them all the information they request, which is something I simply don't have the energy or will to do right now. This is all to say that I don't feel safe calling LL anymore.

I've seen my GP about my MH issues and all they can offer is referrals to private psychologists.

Obviously, I am worried about my work being impacted. No job = no income = no mortgage repayments = no roof over my head = things get a lot worse.

I just feel that I'm raising my hand for help all the time and trying my best but the help our there isn't really available or is non-existent. I feel like I'm trying put the brakes on but they're not working.

I just don't know what to do

@Jlol have you told your psychologist how bad things are?

You are posting so often with such awful feelings that it's very clear you need better support than you're receiving. I feel you need to talk to a MH professional about just how bad things are. Even your GP. Be totally honest, particularly about your not wanting to call LL or go to emergency.

I am sorry to hear about your current struggles. I have found the Internal Family Systems model of therapy to be useful. After more than 15 years of on an off therapy my current childhood trauma social worker uses this model of care. Maybe you could ask your psychologist about it? There is also a great book - No Bad Parts by Richard C Schwartz who developed the model in the first place that helps you understand the theory behind the therapy.

I hope you can find your good place again soon.
