Problems with the NDIS

Problems with the NDIS

I have severe depression and anxiety and issues with trauma and I get triggered by things.

I really need to feel safe and connected and supported right now (I mean safe in a trauma informed way).

I'm having problems with the NDIS. it has been going on for over a year. I had the most horrible experience with a support worker today that left me feeling unsafe and unsupported. She was so horrible.

I'm feeling completely unsupported and alone. I feel like I'm in a nightmare with my trauma symptoms. My anxiety is very bad. I have been feeling so distressed that I have been dissociating. I'm feeling very unwell right now.

I'm constantly getting triggered by people from the NDIS. It's making me feel so unwell.

I feel like the NDIS isn't right for me and maybe I should just have a psychiatrist and a psychologist and that's all.

Hi @Gabi I'm so sorry to hear that the NDIS support seems to be causing more troubles than alleviating them.

Have you made any formal complaints? Is it possible to switch to a different service provider? You might even be able to seek out your local advocacy services to get some backup in approaching the situation. I found a couple of websites online that might be a good place to start:

NDIS Disability Advocacy

VMIAC

Ultimately if the NDIS isn't a good fit for you, then perhaps it would be good to explore other options. Could you access a psych through NDIS funding though? I thought you could.

Hi Jynx,

I'm sorry, I'm not up to explaining everything but thank you for your support.
