Panic attacks
Hi guys and gals
I'm having a bit of trouble at time moment. I'm having panic attacks again.
Things have been really tense and stressful at work lately. I've been working big hours under pressure and the politics in my office have gone into overdrive. I don't see this getting better before christmas. I'll be at work tomorrow because there is just that much to do. And because of our setup I'm making a lot of cowboy decisions with no oversight and this causes me a lot of stress because if I get it wrong I'll be in some trouble.
On top this I haven't been able to run for the last week because I did my ankle (again) running through the bush (don't worry the psychologist told me off because I keep doing this).
My friend warned me about burnout and it does feel like I'm running myself into the ground. I just can't keep this up. I'm getting panic attacks and my general level of anxiety is high.
I hate taking the medication for it because it means I can't do certain things and it doesn't really fix the situation. I'm running again now but it'll be mid-next week before it has any impact on how I feel.
Any tips for now? I'm taking my new girlfriend out tomorrow night and I just want to have fun. Longer term it's going to take awhile to find a solution. I need to find a way to say no to things at work.
