What would you do? - being followed

What would you do? - being followed

Hi all!

I have been followed for the past 2 weeks by cars and individuals. Ive spoken to several people including my psychologist who says I am suffering from delusion thinking.

Here's the facts:

The same black SUV is following me home after work and even when I was leaving a friends house on Saturday night.

I could hear them talking to me in my car, saying where I was turning and what street I was going down.

My car was recently broken in to and they've put microphones in my car to listen to me.

I constantly have a feeling of being watched.

I can't call the police because from experience, they contact my medical team who I think is behind the tracking.

What would you do in this situation? I can see them and I hear them talking to me yet because of my diagnosis | am labelled as delusional. I really feel scared and stuck between a rock and hard place. Let me know what you think.

Hi @Littlesnoze welcome to the forums. I'm so sorry to hear that this is happening for you, I can imagine it is really quite terrifying. I can't tell you whether this is really happening or whether it is delusions, but it sounds like for you, it is very real and very scary.

Do you have much in the way of support? It sounds like you've got a medical team, but do you have a counsellor or therapist with whom you feel safe, and who you can talk openly to about your experiences? You don't deserve to go through this alone.

Re: What would you do? - being followed

Hello @Littlesnoze and welcome. From my experience delusions can be scary and unfortunately they can spiral and escalate. Years ago I thought I was being followed by a little yellow hatchback. One weekend I decided to lean into the feeling and observe more closely and realised I'd seen at least 4 different vehicles so I was quite relieved and could shrug it off after that. Dunno why yellow hatchbacks were so popular but there you go. The other thing to consider is your overall stress level. Is something else happening at the moment that's making you more susceptible to worry and fear? I've occasionally (rarely) taken a extra half tablet prn to sleep better and break the cycle. So it's worth talking to your team about what's underlying it, and discussing options to stop it spiralling.

Do you think any of these approaches might help?
