Something’s not right

Ive had enough

Ive had enough

Ive had a number of procedures on my spine over the past 12 months. My last one was around 6 weeks ago. Since I started this process my pain has increased significantly. Most of the time I can hardly walk now, not without a huge amount of pain. I sleep for a couple hours at a time, awake for about the same time, night and day. I cant sit, stand, walk or lay for long, even when I am Im moving around a lot, I cant get comfortable, I cant settle. I manage to still drive, I go in and get my smokes and drinks each day, mainly to get out the house. It causes a lot of pain but its a break from being stuck at home watching Netflix. I take a decent amount of pain meds normally, then there is breakthrough pain meds, but of late Ive had a few trips to ER to get them to help deal with the pain.

My pain specialist knows how things are going but wants to allow another 2 weeks to see how things go after the last procedure. He originally said it would be reviewed at 6 weeks now he has pushed to 8 weeks. I feel like Im being left to deal with the pain on my own, like my pain specialist has pretty much stopped listening to my situation and just pushing ahead to this 8 week thing blindly.

When I started this process I was in pain but nothing like this, I had the occassional what is now break through pain med. I had limitations etc but Ive just gotten so much worse since I started all this. Really regret doing it.

Re: Ive had enough

That's tough, @ClockFace. Doctors can be so totally indifferent, and compassion for others' suffering doesn't cost much. They are supposed to do more than prescribe. I would be looking in on YouTube to learn something/s new, if I was you. There is a feast to tantalise your mind, and it's free. I hope things settle down for you soon.
