I want it all, and I WANT IT NOW!
Lovely song.
It’s hard to hear that everything will be OK. “Will be?” When? And what happens in the meantime.
I don’t know how much longer I’m going to be alive for. How do I know I’ll be alive long enough to see it be OK? Or long enough to be able to enjoy it when it happens.
I was in a good mood this morning for about four minutes. At the bus stop, I saw a couple walking with their baby in a stroller. The man was waiting to go to work. When the bus came, his wife kissed him goodbye, with their newborn asleep. That image crushed me.
I don’t know whether I’ll ever be in love. I’m close to having an arranged marriage. I’ve been told a lot of things. I’ve been told I should have an arranged marriage, and that I’ll grow to love her. I’ve been told I’m still young.
The most infuriating thing I’ve been told is that I’ll find someone myself. “Soon”. Yeah, sure. I was told that years ago too, and it didn’t happen.
Regardless, though. If I do have an arranged marriage and I grow to love her, that’s going to take MONTHS. More than a year. And in the meantime, am I going to have to spend every day watching other people in relationships, hoping that it’ll be OK?
Yes, maybe it will be OK, but it’s torture in the meantime. Literally torture. Bearing as much of the pain as possible until it’s over. “Being strong” is a nice way of describing it. That doesn’t make much sense, does it?
Do you have ANY […] idea how much it hurts to look at other people kiss and not know what that’s like? To think “I wonder what that girl I liked two years ago is up to now?”
NO is the correct answer.
I don’t know what happened. I put myself out there, no-one liked what they saw. So now I’m being asked to marry a stranger and hope it’s cool.
I don’t care if I have a wife and two kids tomorrow, it’s too late.
At work today, I got an enquiry for someone making a Total and Permanent Disability insurance claim. The client hasn’t worked since 2016. The client is only 36 years old.
I don’t want to wait for my life to get better. I don’t know what the answer is, though.
