Confused

Confused

Next week I am scheduled to have a procedure in hospital. This will be my first anaesthetic since learning I have DID and I'm stressed and confused. I had a lot of ECT many years ago and my psychiatrist at the time used to joke about the asbestos suit they needed when seeing me after this. I never thought much of it until the DID diagnosis. Apparently I would scream at them and abuse them verbally and never have any recall of it. I don't know now if this is just an ordinary response to ECT (this wasn't the impression I got from the psych at the time) or if it is some other part of me that I don't know of. How can I know? What can I do?

I've had other anaesthetics and no one else has ever said anything, but why would they? Surely they'd assume I'd remember. I worked very hard as a teenager to get rid of all the angry. Now I'm wondering if it just went underground and has the potential to return next week.
