Something’s not right

Getting worked up, not feeling great 😟

Getting worked up, not feeling great 😟

I was so close to winning and I just missed the final hurdle in the video game. I was able to get a redo and get it the second time round but I feel like I still lost and it's bugging me. Am I a loser?

I hate when this happens, I feel like this has thrown me off my game altogether 😔 It feels silly and petty but I can't help feeling this way.

Hey @KFPDW ,

That does frustrating and difficult to sit with. I'm sorry it has thrown you off.

Any plans with what you will do next?

Thanks for the reply. Yeah it does feel difficult to sit with. I don't know what to do. I feel like I want to start the game again from scratch but I feel like it won't change anything. I feel so flustered right now 😖😔😞

Would a little break for the game help @KFPDW

Give yourself some space to feel and heal before going for it again? (only if you want to)

Make yourself a cuppa.

I don't know. I guess I can try. Still feel flustered though. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hey @KFPDW I totally feel you. I get flustered from video games all the time. It doesn't at all mean you're a loser! It's part of the video game experience in my eyes - each time you lose, you learn a little bit more about how to win. And if I find myself losing a LOT, and getting irritated, it usually means time for a break. When I come back to it a few hours later or the next day, I usually get it... but not always. In any case, it is also a game at the end of the day. No video game should ever be able to tell you who you are or determine your value as a person 😊

Thanks for your reply @Jynx

Is that true? Every time you lose you get better?

@KFPDW in my experience it is generally true - and true of life, too. Mistakes, losses, failures, all of these things are also learning opportunities. It might take time and effort, but we grow from it 😉
