Giving to everyone else!

Giving to everyone else!

It took me to get so far down that I thought I would never get up again to realise that I had to STOP giving my all to others. This is soooo scary when you don't know where to start.

I started, and it feel strange in a good way and bad way. I have aways put my need aside to be able to provide for everyone else. It took for me to harm myself before I realise I was so far down. This is a very big thing for me but I went and got a hair cut today. Something so simple can make you feel a little better about yourself. This arvo I am going to the dentist, this has not happened for I can't remember how long, all because I gave my all to everyone else.

I hope this give other the strenght to pick your self up, dust your self off and put your self first for once, take care of YOU because as I am learning, no one else will.

Not it is not easy but slowly with small goals it will happen.

Hi @Heart

I read on a site YESTERDAY that one of the common behaviours of sibling grief was "Compulsive care-giving". Not sure if it is relevant to you, but it made a lot of sense to me.

Take care of you.

Hi @Heart 🙂

I am slowly learning that myself. I am trying to do "me things". Certainly not easy.

I am finding the more I do it, the better I feel, and the easier it becomes. All about valuing yourself.

I used to get tied in knots simply having a cuppa at a cafe, like I wasn't permitted to do it, because it was for me.

A year or so back, my counsellor said, "now, when you leave here, go to a cafe and have a cuppa and slowly enjoy it." I did, and it felt really good 😉

Hello @BlueBells, @Heart, @Appleblossom, @Former-Member, @Former-Member xx

I am slowly learning that myself.as well it is taking me a while I am trying to do "me things". more and more

It is the same with me @BlueBells , ike I wasn't permitted to do it, because it was for me.

I was wondering if these feelings were from being mentally abused when i was little , but mum and I left as i was getting sicker and sicker and thinner when i was 12

It felt strange to do something for me xx

and it is the lovely people here on the Sane forum who have helped me so much , I still have a long way to go
