Re: Just checking in

Hi @utopia. My apt went well, all is okay. Things between G and me have taken a bit of a beating from my daughter. I did send a post referring to what happened. Things have settled now, but I had to admit something to G that I didn't want to. The old 'green-eyed monster' reared it's ugly head and I became rather doubtful. When you read my post, you will understand. Just hope and pray he does too. It concerns my daughter and her rather toxic friend.

Re: Just checking in

@pip. I'm glad all was confirmed well at your appointment today. That's brilliant news. Very glad.
You will need to let me know where your post is. Then I can read it.

Re: Just checking in

@utopia. The post comes under the heading of 'Not Sure, Dambusters'. Why the Dambusters title I'm not sure. It doesn't make for 'happy' reading.

Hi @Former-Member, sorry you're not feeling connected - busy and stressed. It is hard to stay self aware & know when stress is building up & old thoughts creeping back. Maybe do the deep breathing body scan mindfulness every day. Keeps me more in touch with feelings etc.

Glad you have your little helper there. Children truly are very perceptive, but do reassure him its not his fault as more than often tend to blame themselves when things are wrong.

Hang in there. Google "beyond now app" which is good to do and have on standby.

Thanks for saying hello, don't stay away too long, hugz xox

Hi @utopia,
bourbon and coke coming up 🙂
I've been wondering how ya coping having lost your 'other' mum recently. Grief can be debilitating. I'm pleased you got to say goodbye. Focusing on what you loved about her is good, makes you smile that she is watching over you.

Haha, test results that tell you you need more tests, made me chuckle (i can relate), hope nothing serious 🙂 Try not to have a 'meltdown' (i should talk - you'll have to tell me HOW to "pretend it's not happening and get on with life" Well, guess its necessity.

About your aboriginal Water Wells (was gonna ask about that), fancy not being recorded on the database - you deserve some sort of award *****
Nevee heard of "aboriginal fire sites", and burning for 2,000+ years, wow! Its wonderful that your hunting down these sites, keep telling us about them xox

Re: Just checking in

Thanks @Former-Member. Finding it frustrating that no one has written a book on the Aboriginal people that used to live in our area. Only settler books have been written & can only gather a paragraph or page of information from each book. Don't even have a single Aboriginal name that I can find recorded anywhere yet. All I know is that our tribe died out after a massacre & then further killings - don't appear to be recorded & disease. Oral history says only 3 of our local group survived and joined a nearby tribe of the same Nation - but we have no knowledge of any descendants of those 3. Bloody sad.
I hope you have been keeping well. What have you been up to?

Re: Just checking in

Not up to much of anything lately @utopia accept this old house, the garden, sewing etc. Only get called in to comm support work occasionally these days and the 3groups I attend have broke up for a couple of months for Christmas. I worry for my family who live away and never come here. So wonder what I'm still doing here lol. Sometimes better to put hand to task and not think, other than counting blessings. My dog, the wild birds and my faith keep me going, oh, and these forums are great. xox

Re: Just checking in

@Former-Member it's hard at this time of year when our support groups or activities finish for the year. I think it's the time of year we need to keep busy and activity groups would be great to attend.
My meditation class finishes on Tuesday. I only just found them 1 month ago.
I've cleaned out my gutters and am now sitting in the shade watching the birds that live in and visit my garden. It's relaxing and peaceful just listening to them singing..
Yes this forum is great. Has saved me many times from going over the edge. We are lucky to have a group of new and old people that are understanding and supportive and really care.
I don't think it matters that we are in 'cyber space' & have never met. Real friendships can be found here.
Do you have plans for the day? Me, I may read a book and ignore the growing grass and the dusting and vacuuming that is screaming to be done.
