Feeling real low

Feeling real low

Im feeling really low tonight. Im going through withdrawals from pain meds, the first ones that came to your mind. Im on a combination med that is that stuff and the stuff they give you if you take to much. This stuff is causing the withdrawal, so its not as bad as cold turkey but its not the least bit fun.

My depression is pretty bad, mainly sick of being sick, sick of pain, sick of having to justify why I cant do things when people know whats wrong and my limitations. Like move a farm gate, that shouldnt be left to me with my back. The same for a lot of other things, mental health in particular, I cant do a lot because of my issues, so dont ask me to do them. Dont ignore them or dismiss them/me cause it doesnt fit your world.

Sorry to hear how hard tonight is for you. I've read that there is so much happening, and because you feel deeply and care so much, it is hurting you more @ClockFace

Sitting with you.

hang in there @ClockFace

From what you've shared you are aware of the impact that ceasing certain medication is having on your psychophysiology, and that objective perspective can be a great ally for you. I hope so, anyway...

I'm wondering if you can try tuning out by tuning into something that most times brings you pleasure?.. a fave movie, maybe... or music... or food

Re: Feeling real low

Feeling bad is normal when you have so much pain and have to withdraw from pain meds. I don't really understand why. I've been on a norspan patch and it help my back pain really well. If I don't get a refill in time it's bad after a few days and I can't really function that well.

I've had depression for 30 years, and I know by now however bad it is, it's only chemicals in my head. I take the pills, I do the talk therapy, I think every day "what can make my life better today". The pain has been bad but now I'm working again my depression has been better. Well, I think my boss hates me and I'm a just pretending to be good at it but...

I've had to take care of a teenager with ASD and depression throughout.

Hi @ClockFace I can really relate. Just recently someone who I trusted let slip that they thought the reason I am not able to do certain activities is because I am “avoiding and couldn’t be bothered”. Sometimes people really suck. They dont understand, they dont get it. It’s even worse when these are people who you thought you were close with or you are forced to rely on.

Im sorry that you are going through this hard time. I just wanted to let you know that you’re not alone and it’s not your fault that others don’t understand your situation. It’s really a deficit on their own understanding and compassion. There is a reason why peer workers can be so effective and that is because they get it and they know that the struggle is real.

Im not a peer worker but as your peer I can tell you that I know your struggles are real and I know it really is that hard for you.
