Something’s not right

Not coping and there is no help. I’m trapped

Not coping and there is no help. I’m trapped

I’m not doing well. I’m doing stuff you’re not supposed to talk about on these forums to try and cope.

I can’t get any help because I can’t go into public places at the moment. If I reach out to a helpline, I get told “just go to your doctor”. Well I can’t, and I don’t have a treating doctor anymore anyway, I couldn’t afford to go on using private and public didn’t want me, now it’s a bit late because I couldn’t afford to even live in Melbourne anymore and the place I moved to, I don’t have a treating doctor. My speech is getting muddled, I can’t stop rocking and pacing, I can feel eyes on me everywhere and there is no help. What are you supposed to do? There is nothing.

Hello @Former-Member

Hearing you are feeling agitated... maybe thats a word?

I have felt that way a lot when I get very isolated.

Its upsetting that the public system chooses not to deliver.

Not sure what to suggest ... any online zoom groups ...

alt2su maybe ... sane guided services ...

Hey @Former-Member I'm sorry to hear that you are having such a difficult time finding the right support, especially if you're finding it difficult to leave the house. If telehealth is what is needed, I think there is a lot more out there in terms of options since the pandemic hit. You could potentially find some options by using databases to search for your needs. Here's a few to try:

Service Seeker - national directory of health and welfare services

Trauma Support Directory - best option for finding trauma-informed care

APS: Find a Psychologist - pretty big database of psychologists; telehealth can be part of your search

Psychology Today: Find a Counsellor - similar to the above

It is rough to hear that you've got so little support and that coping has become so hard. Support can be hard to come by, especially if you've moved somewhere new. But it's important to keep trying, maybe even let them know you need support but maybe say you're not looking for practical solutions (so they don't just suggest going to a doctor) but for support to help you get through the day... Maybe you could call SANE's Drop In service (1800 187 263 Mon-Fri, 10am-10pm) a buzz when they're open so at least you've got someone to talk to about what you're going through.

@Jynx How do you search for “telehealth” on APS? It demanded I enter a physical location. And the online services in Psychology Today all have catchment areas… it’s so stupid. I’m tired of this crap. I keep thinking about finishing it once and for all, but I can’t think about it or I might actually do it.

Forget it. But thanks for trying.
