In hospital

In hospital

I've come into hospital because I can't manage my pain. It's so bad, I'm kinda shuffling around, walking and standing hurts so much. Sitting hurts but not as bad.

They asked me what brought me in and I said my head and my pain. They've concentrated on the pain so far, no questions about my head.

Now the wait for a doctor to see me

Re: In hospital

Hi @ClockFace

Thank you for reaching you to the Forums!

I hear so much resilience in your posts with everything that you are dealing with at the moment. Your courage in talking about your own MH and chronic pain is admirable. It seems you have a lot to deal with and the Forums are a great place to talk about that with your peers who understand MH challenges.

The hospital can be the best place for us at times and if you need to be there it's good that you could take yourself. Hopefully, they can find a solution to your pain if they are focusing on that for now. Hospitals usually want to reduce your discomfort level and manage that in the best way they can. It may take some time though but I hope you feel some relief from making the decision to go now that you are there.

Please keep the Forums community up to date on your recovery and admission to the hospital.

Take Care

@RiverSeal

Well Im home, an injection of anti-inflammatories brought the pain down fromm an 8 to a 3. I took some of my strong pain killers when I got home and that has pretty well knocked out the pain altogether. Its temporary but I would be in the least amount of pain Ive been in for as long as I can remember. Not completely gone, enough that I know its there but its a nice feeling.

I can walk pretty well normally, though I am still pretty nervous about steps and bending over.

Im just wondering how long it will last. My sister and Dad have made plans for the whole family to have a meal together near the hospital my sister is in and I would really like to go, but it would depend on the amount of pain I am in. There is a HUGE! background to that so me going would be good.

Also, if I can go to that I could go to the Urgent Mental Health Care Centre and they can help me with my mental state as I got no help today. There wasnt even a mention of it even though I pointed it out as an issue on a number of occassions. It was simply ignored.
