Climate anxiety

Climate anxiety

My mental health was always shaky, then 2020 happened...lord.

Seems since then I just can't be happy. Everything is dying. Everything is running out.

I get so anti consumption and anti car and all the plastic gets me worked up every time I see it. It's like the whole world is a trigger .and seeing all these people walk around having kids, buying cars, having the sprinklers on when it's raining...it just feels like I am going insane.

But I am getting married. I don't want to be scared. I want to be hopeful. Maybe bad things will happen, maybe they need to happen, I know that I can't know, and maybe it will be figured out...

But I just want hope. I have hope that those around me will help me into the future. I hope I have the strength to be there

Hi there @Rosewntg2bloom ,

Thank you for sharing how you have been feeling.

The world is definitely changing whether we like it or not.

We all have our part to play in this, yet if it becomes a stressor to affect one's functioning in life, it may be good to speak to a specialist.

The anxious energy built up does eventually have a toll, not only on you, but your family - esp if you will be getting married soon.

What is within our control, it is definitely important to tackle. However, for what is beyond our control, we must look inward to see how we can better manage.

I hope you find the support you need at this time.

We're here for a chat if you need one.
