I thought that I would never say it but i am at my limit! I hav centrelink up like their calling me a liar and I have no prospects.
I think this will be my last post , if not be it for a while. I will soon have no money, I have already no family and I have no hope! What am I to do, the medication isn't working and I am running on empty.
I'm not a liar and i fight extremely hard every day to stay a live but right now, I am gassed out, centrelink, what should I do for gods sake!!!!
Holly molly totally agree about Centerlink. My friends joke you need a degree in Centerlink to get through their red tape and my friends all have real degree s. Stand up for yourself as much as you can. Don't give up. You deserve help as much as anyone. Good luck. Xx

Re: every body has there limits!!
Hi Dogman, is there any way you can appeal this Centrelink decision? Sometimes it is better to have an advocate help you in an appeal process.
It sounds like a very rough time at the moment. Just wanted to let you know as dark as times are now, hang in there because life is worth it.
Do Google welfare advocacy organizations in your state and go from there. My best wishes go with you.

Hi @Dogman, it sounds like you're now feeling like your avatar. Centrelink certainly have a way of bringing people down. But aren't there review processes? Even they have to acknowledge that they get it wrong at times. And unfortunately the few who rip off the system have created a backlash where no-one is trusted. Instead of being proven a liar you seem to have to prove yourself honest. Which is actually much harder to do!
Have you given your meds enough time to work? They're not the whole answer but they can often give you enough protection to make it through really tough times like this.

Re: every body has there limits!!
Yes I have heard they are doing reviews. Follow it through @Dogman. If they have made a mistake, prove them wrong .. can you get a social worker or ombudsman to support you in appeals process?

Thank you 1 and all, they are somethings I didn't know to think about, will look into them asap tomorrow, I know I sounded very bad and I do feel that centrelink are doing what the current government asked, which is to save money and get people into jobs, I will stand up for my self, and thanks once again to all.

Re: every body has there limits!!
Hi there @Dogman,
Sounds like you are feeling very similar to how I feel right now. I am in a crisis and feeling like I have run myself into the ground with no clear solutions. I am going through the classic Centrelink drama too, and am in the process of trying to get onto DSP because of my depression, addiction and crippling anxiety. I feel like a fraud, even though I am not. We will get there. We just have to fight.

Re: every body has there limits!!
Hi @Dogman. C'link do seem to be a law unto themselves and often put their own connotations into situations. Unfortunately, looking at the other side of this loaded debate. Many people are rorting the system and C'link are making sure you are getting the entitlement allowed. There are a lot of people who simply want to claim any benefit they can rather than try to obtain any sort of work. This means unfortunately, everyone seems to be treated the same. Dogman you don't sound bad at all, you sound extremely frustrated which is totally understandable. At times, dealing with C'link, you just about need a degree in foreign languages. Is your Dr prepared to give C'link notification of your inability to work? If your Dr did this for a patient, then C'link discovered the patient was rorting the system, the Dr in question would be audited. This would, in turn, make him extremely dubious about helping another patient. My own Dr had this happen to him and he will only notify C'link if the patient is near death. Once Dr's are audited, their practise remains under C'link for an undetermined length of time. My ex had an issue with his back. He could hardly walk, driving for long lengths of time was impossible due to his back seizing after sitting. Our Dr flatly refused to 'sign him off' on this due to being previously audited. C'link has become difficult but when you see how many people are 'trying it on', it really is the 'one bad apple' situation. Hang in there Dogman, your genuine need will prevail. You may have to climb through some more hoops, but C'link have to be seen to be helping.

Re: every body has there limits!!
I think the mention of centrelink is a trigger!! 🙂 Just kidding.
Boy! Centrelink causes nothing but grief, frustration and when you have a mental illness it brings you down so much. When I had to quite work due to my illness and memory firstly it was the first time at the age of 42 that I had to go on Centrelink, they wasted hours with me because they would not believe that I have neer been on Centrelink and they thought something was wrong becuase no history. I was told different information by different people constantly. The first time I went with my partner as he was a carer we saw someone go ballistic at one of them and we frowned down at them thinking what a trouble maker. 2 months later I was that person causing a scene in Centrelink. The best thing I did for my mental health was get out of centrelink (got a job) but they stillkept hassling me.
I feel so much for you as I know what damage they can do, hang in there and try to appeal. Like I said I got different answers everytime I went so maybe go again and you may get someone else who will help you.
Take care and I hope things work out.

Re: every body has there limits!!
Hi @Change I do agree basically with your comments regarding C'link. However, as I said earlier, because of changes to the govt, C'link do have to comply. Unfortunately this often means the innocent suffer for the guilty. I too, have had issues with them, I have walked out before completely losing it. Because they're the ones who have final say in pensions, carers, disability, age & Newstart you basically have to do as they instruct. No, they seldom (if ever) apologize. I have seen people walk out and head for the nearest pub in frustration. C'link these days appears to be 'manned' by school leavers who have no 'people skills', no manners and definitely little, if any, grasp of basic English. However abusing them means you're shown the 'exit' quicker than you entered. They hold the cards and we the public (who ensures they stay in their job) dance to their tune. Tell them, because of us they have a job, and you will quickly be admonished for being 'rude'. However, once the 'dance' is over and your pension has been approved, hopefully your dealings with them cease. These days the unemployment part is handled by agencies who actually employ humans who (believe it or not) understand difficulty obtaining work.

@Dogman. Sorry to hear the struggle you are going through. I've had a battle with Centrelink and Work Cover. It can be so hard to deal with people who don't understand MI at CentreLink & how you walk out feeling worse. Centrelink has a social worker. Call and make an appointment to see their Social Worker. Mine helped me so much. Then see your gp and get them to fill out the CentreLink Medical Certificate - that will exempt you from looking fir work fir a while. Your psychologist or psychiatrist can also write them a letter. Take these with you when you see the CentreLink Social Worker. You can maneauver through CentreLink - without all these hassles
