The fate of the Universe (trigger warning?)
Not sure where to put this post, not something I think any friends or family want to talk about.
I've always been a positive guy, not quite sure why but generally think the best. The last several years have been really hard. I've been blending Science and Religion to try and understand my life and the bigger questions of our existence. For me, now, I think the picture is becoming clearer. Finally understanding the role of entropy, that the Universe began at a point in time, and will fade out long into the future brings a sense of darkness into my world. But it's not the end of me, rather our lives should be a dance towards some future demise. I am still grappling with the emotions, but it means we must decide how much we each want to travel into this future.
It was only recently that Astronomers and Scientists could agree on the probable fate of the Universe (the details are still sketchy), but talk of traveling to other planets to try and leap frog our way out of the problem seems futile. I dare not put this in the public domain as I'm sure many people could not handle this concept.
I've been told all my life to 'lighten up', but these kinds of things have driven me to seek an answer, and probably caused much of my perceived distress and frustrated those around me to no end.
Any feedback would be appreciated, sorry to those just starting on their journey to discovery.
