@Loz_3647
I am sorry to read how hard things are for you right now, I am becoming more aware of how damaging CPTSD has been to so many areas of my life. I spent a lot of time with horses from my late teens, which I think can be credited with me staying alive for 40 years since the trauma. I read these days about equine therapy, I had no idea at the time, but I knew they were healing. I know what works for one person doesn’t necessarily work for another but there might be something else that can help.
Just last Friday I had a meltdown due to cPTSD being triggered, I am probably going into hospital for a program soon. My Dr did my referral today, trying to stay out of the public system for now, but I have decided not to let the SI and SP win. Remember to stay in the present as much as you can, relaxation meditations might help, maybe try to think of the very best thing you could do (I swam in the ocean yesterday), I also find TIP and ACE helpful.
T Temperature ( change it, maybe cold water on your face)
I intense exercise ( it doesn’t have to be for long, just running on the spot for a few seconds or similar)
P present ( come back to the present by using 5 things or box breathing)
A acknowledge your thoughts and feelings
C Connect with your body, rub your arms
E engage in what you were doing
I hope you find some peace soon and a way to rest while you heal.
