Rejection by everyone

Rejection by everyone

Hi . I am in addition to my family issues finding it very hard to deal with other people because of the way l have been treated in the past l don't trust anyone and have had some very bad experiences with potential employers promising me jobs then going silent. It's to the point l just crawl back in my shell after each bad one and l don't see the point of continuing to look for work ( although l need to) if l am going to be treated poorly and not be able to trust anyone. I don't know if l would cope with working in a team with others being constantly on edge about rejection and l can't cope with constantly getting bad news about everything in life. My self confidence will never be rebuilt enough to integrate into society again. Does anyone else fell this way?

Re: Rejection by everyone

@john74 I'm sorry to hear how you're feeling 😞

Would you maybe consider volunteering somewhere, to build up your confidence?

Re: Rejection by everyone

Hi john74,

Sorry to hear about your disappointment, it's terrible to be promised work then let down, people should not do that. I would much rather just be told 'no'. It's not just you, I'm sure a lot of people are nervous about work and there's not much help and support in the workplace. If you are struggling with rejection issues the previous suggestion of volunteer work might be a good idea. Also I have gone to a local market and sold various items, just doing something simple to build confidence can help greatly. I was rejected by another job site computer algorithm the other day for an entry level job, that sucks. You could also try a training course. I'm not sure of your level of expertise or how old you are, but small businesses are more likely to give someone a go if they are a bit down in the dump.
