Disclosure at Work

Disclosure at Work

I'm considering disclosing to my employee my C-PTSD diagnosis. I'm having a rough time at work, near panic attacks daily just getting out the door to even start the day, people have noticed my change in demeanor, and I feel like I'm being bullied (which could also be a complication of my own mental health). I don't really want to tell them, I've been a top performer at my site for 3 years, am on the leadership track etc etc, but I feel like I'm not as able to keep up with it all at the moment. I'm well and truly over performing at the moment, but recent questions I've had to define what my workload actually is has been met with suspicion and resistance. Has anyone disclosed before? How did it go?

@welcome_snacks I would only disclose if you feel like you are safe to do so. And only to the top management/OH&S. Maybe they can make some unjustments for you. If you are over performing it might be time to slow down. Maybe take some sick leak to try and work through what is going on.

just some ideas.

Thanks @Little_Leopard I'm in a pretty unique situation next week where my line manager and their manager are on leave so planning to fly under the radar and crash into Xmas. Taking 3 weeks then so I'm going to leave the decision until after the holidays, see if I can't get some clarity in myself what I want
