Going back on antidepressants
Hi there
I’m currently in the early stages of seeking out therapy for BPD. I’ve seen a psychiatrist who has recommended I see someone who can offer DBT and also possible support/therapy groups.
He’s also suggested I look at going back on mild antidepressants as the last 5 months without it I’ve definitely noticed a decline in my ability to cope with anxiety and depression. I’m open to this but unfortunately my husband isn’t. He thinks it didn’t significantly help last time and won’t change my BPD challenges. He also said he didn’t like who I was on it as it flatlined me. He feels I need to just focus on getting support for BPD as that’s the issue impacting our day to day relationship.
Sorry I long one but I’m just not sure how to go forward. For me if my psychiatrist and GP think it’s best then that’s my priority. I hate the idea of going back on it because of a few of those things but I’m feeling more depressed, I also have a 2 year old and I’m pregnant. So keeping my mental health in check is number 1.
