Defeated

Hi, I'm a 22 F and battling hard with deoression right noe, there's a long history of anxiety amd recent diagnosis of BpD. I'm lost because no one wants to help me, most doctors don't have the time and the psychologists keep passing me along.
I just saw one really good doctor and he wa so kind but unsure and i actually opened up to him. I told hom how i tried to commit last week and thse thoughts wont go away and ive never been like this before.
I've tried tonnes kf meds and all kinds of doses and it honestly helped immensely with anxiety but did opposite with depression and asthma oh and weight gain. I feel like any professional hope for help is lost on me.

Re: Defeated

Hello @Viz I hope you are feeling ok at the moment. How are you dealing with the new diagnosis. A bunch of people here have BPD so hopefully they'll chime in.

I'm on a bunch of meds at the moment for bipolar. It took me ages to get it right but it's a process of trial and error so you just have to keep at it. If you've found it has been useful in the past keep at it, you'll find something.

I found with side effects they often die down with time. One medication I'm currently on initially caused me a fair bit of weight gain (which was horrifying) but it worked so well I couldn't really go off it. I found though that the weight gain went away. I'm now sitting at a very healthy weight (middle of the healthy BMI range).

Welcome to the forums. I hope you stick around. We are a friendly bunch of people and we like to help each other.

Re: Defeated

Hi @Viz

I too have been diagnosed with BPD. I have been referred to another psychologist as my regular one after 5 yrs couldn't help me anymore. I am on meds for depression and anxiety with at the moment quite a few side effects from migraines, brain zaps, nausea and insomnia.

I feel that you can still have hope and get help from a professional. Can you GP refer you to a psych that deals with BPD?

I hope you can get some help. Happy to chat again, take care.

Re: Defeated

Thanks for your replies! And apologies for the terrible spelling errors there, I was in a sad state writing that.

I was on meds for a good year and a half. The weight gain never left for me which left me feeling more depressed (having a past ed) I'm still fighting off that darn weight. It's good to know someone cares even if it's on here, even when I was at my lowest turning to lifeline they put me through to a robot???

Good idea, i will ask him about that when I get the courage to go back.

Thank you both!

Hi @Viz

I am slowly working on improving my metabolism... it seems the answer lies in more whole foods including healthy fats & oils ... rather than reliance on processed foods, even low fat varieties ... still figuring it out ... not at ideal weight yet .. but had a win today re cholestrol ....
