Mood dropping

Mood dropping

So my mood is slipping back into Depression mode. Have been a bit on/off for the past few weeks. Been making mistakes. My head isn't clear. Irritation has returned and I am quick to anger.

So I have cracked a can of Bourbon, will chain smoke and then go to bed. Feeling sorry for myself..

Oh and my new puppy is chewing /destroying everything.

Hello @utopia

Sorry to hear your mood is dropping.

Apart from the puppy chewing/ destroying everything I can really relate.

I typed a longer response but it disappeared somewhere in the big internet sky.

I wish you a restful night's sleep with a brighter outlook tomorrow.

Take care,

Re: Mood dropping

It's okay to be depressed sometimes. As someone with lots ups and downs, it's just not practical to be up all the time.

Re: Mood dropping

Hi there @utopia

Sorry to hear you feel like you're slipping in to depression again. Sadly that's the nature of mental health illness. We can go in and out of our symptoms. Sometimes they are really life impacting and then we seem to get on top of them again.

Do you have a plan as to what to do when your mood goes downhill? I know it's so easy to turn to alcohol and other vices. So so easy. The odd slip up is nothing to beat yourself up about and by reaching out here you're doing something positive to help yourself. Do you have a health professional you can talk to about how you're feeling?

Sending warm wishes

Hanami

Re: Mood dropping

HI @utopia,

Sorry to read you are feeling this way. I have had depression on and off most of my adult life so I understand how you feel. It's not a nice place to be. The good news is (as you probably know) that depression is very treatable and manageable.

I think it's more than okay to feel sorry for ourselves sometimes, we can't always be on an upward swing - when I feel like this I try to remember all the positives in my life. Your new puppy sounds like a positive :).

Hope you are feeling a bit better today.

Best wishes,

FloatingFeather

Hey there, @utopia. Sorry to hear you're on a bit of a downer, me too. Tomorrow is another day. I hope today has been alright, at least. Sending best wishes to a fellow downer and the new puppy.
