Stumped psychiatrist

Stumped psychiatrist

II’m new so hi! I’m wondering if anyone out there may share the same symptoms as me. I’ve been dx as bipolar 2 without manic episodes unfortunately massive depression and severe mood swings. I can function normally for sometimes weeks and bam, without a trigger my pervasive thoughts are suicide. This hypomania lasts about 3 days and my mood makes me horrible to be around while consumed by SI Then the cycle repeats again coasting along then suicidal obsession. I’ve had ECT, on meds but I’m still cycling. Any advice or similar issues would be great. I hope you are improving and fighting this hideous disease.

Hey @scampy i don’t share your diagnosis, but wanted to welcome you to the forum. I know there are heaps of others that so have bipolar on the forums and im sure they will chime in when they can.
I do have experience though with the chronic suicidal thoughts and some other things that you have mentioned. It’s sure a full time job managing our mental health some times.

Hello.

I tried ECT once. How was your experience of it?

Re: Stumped psychiatrist

Do you have a history of serious childhood trauma by any chance?
