Re: Differant personalities
I'm pleased you found this forum because it's a warm and caring group of people who experience problems similar to yours where we can share our experiences and help one another.
To get help it would be a good idea to go and see your GP and discuss this with him or her. The GP should be able to give you a referral to a psychiatrist and a psychologist who should be able to help you work out exactly what's happening. Please do ask your GP for a Medicare Mental Health Plan. This will enable you to see these health professionals at a significantly reduced cost or free for up to 10 sessions.
Right now try to keep yourself calm. Perhaps you can look around you and find different items that represent each colour of the rainbow. Whilst you're doing this try to breathe deeply and v e r y slowly in the hold for a second or two and then breathe out v e r y slowly.
Thinking of you 🎶

Hello @Melly2
Approach any doctor and ask them to refer you to a psychologist.
I am not sure if you meditate or listen to music to relax ... or if a bath or the running water of a shower would help .. treat yourself delicately ...

Hi @Melly2
im glad you've posted here on the forums.welcome, i hope that you'll find some great support here while things are so awful. I think i hear from what you've written that you really feel like you need some help at the moment. If you can't wait for a drs appointment you could try phoning beyond blue i think it is or the SANE helpline during the day for referrals. Or as @Appleblossom mentioned if you go to see a GP you can get a referral from them to either a psychologist or pscyhiatrist. As you've obviously been down the meds line, i assume you've seen a psychiatrist before? if not maybe a psychiatrist may have some better ideas about meds that could help you... but one step at a time. I have found my psychologist far more helpful than anything else... incluing meds for me anyway. but i had a few counsellors in the past who i definitely didn't find helpful or connect with as well. keep looking for a good counsellor until you find someone you can connect with.
I also have been confused with my dx as different psychiatrists have slightly disagreed and my psychologist has said other things as well. my gp puts things pretty much in his own terms as well. sometimes im so confused... but i also try not to box myself up in one of their labels (i still do sometimes!!) and try to focus on working on the symptoms that are most bugging me... at the moment its anxiety and horrible memories that all the itme.
hope that you find the forums helpful and supportive,
lj
