Something’s not right

Kangaroo1

Kangaroo1

I'm on a downward spiral caused by a few different traumas- childhood abuse, family violence, grief & loss. I can't seem to get help where it's needed. I feel hopeless with my life. Mostly I feel I'd be better off dead than continue to struggle everyday with my horrible life.

Re: Kangaroo1

That's a lot of heavy and hard stuff to deal with @Former-Member and I'm sorry to hear you've had those experiences. I'm going to send an email to check in with you 🌹

Re: Kangaroo1

@Former-Member I'm so sorry to hear that you're sitting in this place right now. I wanted to stop by to let you know you are not alone, that there are many in this community who can identify with the feelings you've bravely shared and there are some of us who have walked that path and have emerged through the other side.

You mentioned that you can't seem to find help where it's needed, and I'm wondering what supports you might have tried? For me it was so important to find a GP that I trusted and a therapist who specialised in trauma. There are services out there that can help point you in the right direction so please keep reaching out because I believe there is always a solution, you just need to find the right people who can help guide you 💜

If you haven't already connected with the SANE counselling service you might want to give them a try, it's free and the counsellors are trained to offer support and advice, which might be helpful to connect with a service local to you. The number is 1800 187 263 and you can find out more here.

Hope to hear from you soon, @Former-Member 😊

Re: Kangaroo1

@Former-Member I'm sorry to hear how hopeless you feel right now. It can get better with some changes and the right support, it did for me. Can I ask what supports you have?

If things are ever too much, unfortunately SANE can't provide crisis support so I would encourage you to reach out to these crisis services if you need to do so.

Might also be worth speaking to someone at Blueknot, as they specialise in trauma.

Wishing you all the best 💝
