Something’s not right

Hi

Hi

My chest hurts and intermittently flutters tonight. It’s anxiety.

Medication doesn’t work for me.

I don’t feel safe when I’m not being emotionally rescued by another. That destroys so much in and around a life.

I can find humour in literally everything, and usually want to.

I’ve wasted my life.

Re: Hi

Hi @Anon4 , I'm sorry about your bad anxiety, I can empathise. 😞

A sense of humour is a great saving grace, I reckon. 👍

But I'm sorry to hear you feel you've wasted your life. Is there anything you feel you can start turning around, as of now?

Re: Hi

Hey @Anon4
I'm just wondering have you been able to speak with or bring this up (medications) with your DR?

What sort of things does humour bring into your life? Can you use that in anyway to guide you with where you’re at right now?
…. Maybe / Maybe not, I am just curious as you say you can find humour in literally everything & I see what a strength that is.

Re: Hi

Thanks @NatureLover and @Former-Member

I suppose a lot has changed over the years re the potential efficacy of medication for me. I’ll look into it. Made some enquiries re psychiatrists today. If any mods can email me good psychiatrist suggestions in my area, that’d be swell.

This will be one of those retrospectively funny things. Right now, I just feel broken.

Re: Hi

@Anon4 Hey.

It can be good to laugh with kindness at our foibles and crazy situations.

Hope you find a way through it all.

Thanks @Appleblossom

@NatureLover , I forgot to answer your question about turning things around. It’s a good question.

I’ve been working hard to turn things around for years and have recently hit fatigue. The kind where I feel fundamentally busted because how could I have possibly failed - still? I can’t keep pushing, it does not work.

But, I’m still working at it, because the alternative isn’t an option. I just have to find ways and things I’ve not tried before. The heart racing, for instance. That was new 👍🏼

Re: Hi

Yes, the heart racing doesn't sound good, @Anon4 . 😞

I'm impressed that you've been keeping trying to turn things around, despite them not working. I'm also impressed that you still have hope that you can find something new to turn around. I think it's OK to rest for a while.

Is there any area where you can say, I haven't wasted my life because of ... ? Like, you've learnt something valuable through an experience, you made money to pay the rent and look after yourself, you made someone's day happier, etc.

I know that's hard to find sometimes.

Hoping your anxiety eases...
