Covid (hopefully) endemic stage and avoidant pesonality

Covid (hopefully) endemic stage and avoidant pesonality

I'm taking this stage real slow. Starting to feel out of step with the world. I'm partially holding back because I want the restriction loosening to go well. My main driver is, I've always been a bit unusually cautious(occasionally paranoid) about (not so much getting covid but passing it on (having said that I'd sooner not get long-covid (but whether that happens or not is like for all of us, largely out of our sphere of control))).

My anxiety is going down at some sort of a pace. I can be around the mask-less in low concentrations for low periods of time without wanting to hit the eject button. I noticed the other day that hospitalization rates have been creeping down slowly. There will come a time when I'm again ready to share my breath with people.

In the mean-time, I'm feeling the lonelies, feeling the FOMO and feeling the conflict of being too selfish and too altruistic at the same time. I feel "different", but less the fun "distinct" different and more the sad "distant" different.

Been a while since I stopped avoiding logging my avoidance. It's of course, it's just my version of the experience. Feels text-book in a round-a-bout sort of way.

@wellwellwellnez , I think many of us have been cautious with COVID and will continue to be for some. It is very unpredictable and makes many people withdraw. This is hard and can be very isolating. Being on these forums is way one way to stay connected with others when we are lonely. Take care.

Hi @wellwellwellnez I’ve just read your post and can understand how you feel to a point about COVID restrictions and fearing getting the disease. I can also understand how you avoid people and the fear of being lonely. I’ll admit that I’ve been scared of getting the condition and it has cost me attending Tafe classes on campus so my course in mental health is no longer since I’ve withdrawn from the course. I’m in the process of applying for the course online as I have to sit a bksb test as part of the application process which I’m nervous about doing but know I have to in order to try and get in. I’ve also been experiencing periods of boredom lately which has been rather annoying but I’ve dealt with it to the best of my ability or rather, not the best as my mental health headed downhill badly on Thursday and into Friday but it’s since improved slightly yesterday and more so today.

I’m so glad I’ve got the forums as they’ve helped me so much over the periods of lockdowns in Melbourne and throughout this whole pandemic. The forum members have been so friendly and helpful and I’m so glad to have this as an outlet. You’ve obviously found support in the forums and I’m so glad you’ve chosen to reach out as I’m sure others will be able to support you. You are a great person and this issue of coronavirus is real and I’m sure you’re not alone with your concerns.

Take care and stay safe!

You're both right @Judi9877 @Boo13 . I've been learning to connect in a "communication-age" fashion that has opened up whole new doors. That part has been quite reviving.
