Thoughts getting worse

Thoughts getting worse

Hey, I'm not sure what I can and can't post in this thread. But I have noticed my thoughts have gotten way worse in the past two days. Which includes mental images and thoughts. Is it normal for people to get "worse" without any triggers??

Re: Thoughts getting worse

It certainly can @Mimm.
If your thinking patterns are deteriorating so quickly it's an indication that you would be wise to see your doctor as soon as possible.

Take care and keep in touch 🎶💕🎶

Re: Thoughts getting worse

I agree with @Kurra it would be best to see a doctor to find out what is causing these thoughts.

I would also suggest the following helpline if you need someone to talk to:

lifeline 13 11 14

Re: Thoughts getting worse

Hi @Mimm. I'm wondering if you managed to get an appointment with your gp or maybe your psychologist if you have one.
There are lots of things you can talk about on this site. You will always find someone who has a similar experience to you & can offer advice and support.
I wonder if these thoughts and images relate to suicidal thoughts. I've experienced these and they terrified me.
LifeLine & BeyondBlue are good organisations you can phone 24/7 & they can talk to you and help you. They will listen to you.
How are you managing today? Can you find some activities that you can focus on - to take your mind off those thoughts? Going for a walk, art or craft activities, writing in a journal, doing the gardening or housework? Do you have a trusted friend or family member you can call?
Please know you are not alone. In this forum, we all have experienced MI & we are a supportive, non judgemental group. We are here for you

Re: Thoughts getting worse

Hey @utopia, @jem80, @Kurra,
Thanks for all your responses. I have rung my areas mental health acute care team. And was in emergency on Monday evening. I have spoken to both of my psychiatrists, and the team at my hospital. I haven't been admitted but the plan is on standby if I require it, aka if the thoughts get worse. Thanks for being there for me, it's hard to find people who actually want to listen or offer advice. Thanks again.

@so pleased you sought help @Mimm. And now you have extra support and a plan in place - if you need.
This site and the people on it are all very supportive and are pretty good listeners. Any time you want to chat or need advice or just want to hang out with others - this site is right for you.
Have a look around the site and see if any posts may be of interest to you.

Re: Thoughts getting worse

@utopia thanks. I will. I am sort of having second thoughts that if I should or shouldn't be admitted. But currently my negative thoughts are as intense as they were originally. So I am just taking it day by day, step by step to see how I go. And I keep telling myself that if I need, the plan is always there.
