Im Struggling
My partner has gone away overseas and i am so lonely and depressed without him. I hear voices and i have a mental illness. Im used to spending everyday with him so im struggling without him. He has been gone a week today and some days I don't feel like i can manage without him to care for me. I also suffer with depression and anxiety. I cant see my psychiatrist until my appointment date which is in 2 weeks or so. He is always booked out to make an earlier appointment with him. Im struggling with my weight at the moment aswell and i cant leave the house by
myself to do any exercise nor do i have any motivation 😞 because of my illness i don't socialise at all. Im living with my parents but they dont fully understand what i have to go through. Im drinking and smoking alot because i feel like its the only way to cope.

Im not going good. Thank you for asking. My partner has left me to go overseas for a family member of his thats unwell with old age symptoms. Im all alone I literally have noone. I have a mental illness where I hear voices and also have depression and anxiety. I live with my parents but they don't understand what i go through. There to busy with there own lives to even help me with mine. Today im just crying alot. I have been drinking alot of alcohol and smoking alot of cigarettes to try cope with my voices and depression and anxiety. Im finding it very hard to cope with my partner gone as he cares for me and is the only one that understands what i go through.

@Miss_S, sounds like a rough time! You won't know how long your partner is away for either by the sounds of things, which would be worrying you too. Alcohol and ciggies probably aren't the best coping mechanism at the moment, as alcohol is a depressant and cigarettes can effect the amount of some medications in your blood and how effective they work.
As you've seen in my previous threads, I'm a voice hearer too, so I can relate to what you experience. It can be very harrowing and all you want to do is escape the voices. I was crying a lot in private last night, but I find shedding tears does help... do you find the same, or do you find it just makes you feel worse?
Have you thought about joining a support group for those with mental health conditions? I find these can be a great avenue of learning about yourself and your illness, as well as finding support and making friendships. I'd be lost without mine (although I haven't gone in a long long time!).

My partner said he will be back at the end of this month, start of next month. I dont go to support groups as i get to anxious and dont really like socialising. I also don't drive so i cant get there. When i do go out it's usually with my partner because i feel so comfortable with him. I find crying does help me and also does make me feel worse sometimes. I cry alot. I have been once to a voice hearing group and i enjoyed it. My partner came with me. I would like to go to another one but there not around my area as i know of. Thanks for your reply. My pet cat who meant the world to me passed away terribly a year and a half ago and it still hurts me badly to this day. I had her for nearly 20 years. I miss my companion and our bond we had together. She was such a beautiful pet. She was like my child.

Im at home pretty much by myself aswell. Don't let any guy treat you that way. You have to make sure you find the right person if you haven't already. You are the special person you make the moves and the plans not them. It must be very hard. If you dont have anything to do make a plan without guys involved. Maybe having your own space for a little while will be good for you. Xxx
