Unsure

Unsure

Hi

This might seem stupid, but how do I work out if I'm being paranoid, or if people just want me think that?

Re: Unsure

@Cookie66. I haven't experienced paranoia so I'll leave that to others on this site who may have more experience on this topic.
Just wondering if maybe your gp might be a person you could ask this to.

Re: Unsure

I think it is a million dollar question.

I doubt that any one person is wrong all of the time and a lot of people do get hooked into paranoia ... it may be trigered by a truth and then amplified through fear.

It may create fear & hostility in others though if you are actually looking for them to slip up ... there seem to be trust issues to work through.

I do believe the mind alerts to things for good reasons though sometimes they get out of whack ... no-one can be sure ... as a general question.

Take care @Cookie66

Most of my paranoia was when I a teen and due to smoking dope ... I do believe reality testing can be help.

It is a very common human problem for people to want to prove they are in the right ... mos of us do it.

Re: Unsure

Hi @Cookie66,

This is a really good question. Weighing up the evidece can be helpful. For instance, if you are suspicious of any particular friends/family, perhaps you can question if they have behaved in a way to raise doubts and concerns in the past? What might this person/people gain from you doubting your judgement?

Also @Appleblossom mentioned reality checking. Is there someone you trust that you could check in with and share your thoughts?

Hope this helps a little.
