Hello from hospital

Hello from hospital

Hi All and big hello from hospital. I'm in a private clinic so I am allowed to bring my laptop and have my internet stick thankfully. Here's an update from me:

I'm in a here due to suicidal ideation and also auditory command hallucinations which were suicidal in nature. I'm am feeling a little better and my wonderful gf is visiting me every day which is nice.

My pet rat passed away on the first day of my admission which has thrown a spanner in the works as it has left a huge furry hole in my life where he used to be. I didn't think I'd miss him, but I do tremendously.

I'm stressed as my gf wants me to discharge myself (I'm in the second week of my admission) and go home with her so she can be my carer. This is stressing me out as my psychiatrist and nursing staff are against this decision and I have to admit, I am too. I don't want to lose her though, and I feel like I'm letting her down if I stay here. I think a little more round table discussion is needed here on the subject.

Anyway that's what's happening in Queenie's world. Ciao for now.

Hi Queenie, listen to medical advise and stay 'till the suicidal thoughts suicide. Your 'friend' is being selfish to expect otherwise. Sorry about your pet Rat. Rats have amazing personalities, have a little memorial for him/her. Try get as much respite & helpful routines going while your there. Chin up (((@)))

Re: Hello from hospital

Thanks @Bridgetjones for your kind thoughts. I appreciate them. 🙂

@Former-Member - I wish I knew how to let my gf know how I feel about an early discharge. I talked about it with my nurse for this shift and he agrees that it is unfair of her to push so hard and stress me out. She visits every day and while I love her to bits, I've gotta travel this road alone as she's not the one who is living with the command hallucinations and ideation.

Will definitely be having a little visit to my rat's burial place to remember him when I get out of hospital.

Queenie, ask one of the nurses to be present when you tell your friend to back off & wait 'till the Dr says you can go. The nurse will back you up for sure. Use the support while you're there. Hugzz.

Re: Hello from hospital

@Queenie. So glad you're in a safe place. Maybe see if you can have that round table discussion with your treating team and your gf.
Tell your gf that you are worried she will leave you if you stay in hospital. Speak honestly with her. Let her know you want her help, but only after you have been treated and given the ok by them.
Honest communication is so important. You may find your gf is scared the longer you stay in hospital, that then you may break up with her. She will have her own fears. Open up thatccommunication with her.
Please stay in hospital until you and your treating team are sure you are safe & that they can come up with good coping techniques just for you.
I wish you all the best.

Re: Hello from hospital

Hi @ Queenie,
May I suggest that you see through your entire recommended stay. If she's worth anything she would want what is best for you. Tell her you must stay to see the best course of action through.
Hope things work out for you
